Does he??? At least Ward fights on the inside a lot when they are clinched, where as Molina just holds and when the ref breaks it up, he punches and goes back to holding......
That's what I'm saying. Molina did that the entire fight. If I had to get technical, I would say Molina did those tactics for about 27 minutes of the 30 minute fight.

Whereas Ward might do it for 10-15 seconds (of holding without punching) of a 36 minute fight.

    HUGE difference.

I have to completely disagree. Ward was punching during in fighting.

Molina wasn't infighting. He was literally putting Kirk's arm under his armpit and tying Kirkland up for 15-20 seconds at a time while doing absolutely nothing.

Ward would bully Froch/Kessler into the ropes and actually fight on the inside in close quarters.

And at the times he did punch while he was holding and they were clinched, it was mainly when he had Kirkland's entire right arm pinned under his armpit and he'd hit him with his right hand.

Compeltely different from Andre Ward does. Andre actually fights on the inside and actually boxes you most of the time, and when he does hold or clinch, he attempts to work the body and fight on the inside, and he doesn't your entire arm under his armpit and than punch with his other hand.

            .
That's not fighting on the inside either. Pushing your opponent across the ring then punching them while you're in a clinch is just as illegal as what Molina was doing last night.

Agreed. Mind you there HAS been some Bhop fights I've disagreed with, but like I said if Bayless or Smoger were reffing they wouldn't of let it go on, we would of seen a COMPLETELY different bout without the excessive holding. I have NOT seen that amount of excessive holding since Akinwande-Lewis, and guess what happened? Akinwande was DQ'd, and Molina at times was holding more often, and worse then Akinwande was. I'm still shocked. I lost my voice from screeming at the damn TV for the Ref to do his damn job!!!Damn joke, and I want to see a rematch that is CONTROLLED properly by a better, more competent Referee. Period.

I agree that the clinching/holding was annoying as hell, but it was working. The real problem is the ref not doing anything about it and, probably more so, Kirkland's inability to adjust to it, hence why, IMO, he was losing the fight before the knockdown.

I like Molina but this fight his holding was excessive.

Holding is part of the game but not like this
