And I can tell you, for sure, that regardless of the arena noise, the one voice a boxer ALWAYS hears is that of the ref to whom he is automatically tuned in to.

The ref's tones are short, sharp and expected, and right beside you, easily picked out.So if Cortez didn't actually speak, a concentrating fighter might not notice a "gesture".........

It was going to be a good fight. But da truth is dat ortiz admitted to headbut mayweather on purpise and then he apoligize!! Makes no sense to me.. Dats like saying let me shoot u and then let me say im sorry and hug u. It was a sucker punch but legal

He didn't verbally tell them to fight on because there was thousands of people in the crowd and so he may not have been heard? Wow, and yet every other ref manages to do it, crazy stuff, they must have superpowers or something.

The punches were legal, and Mayweather was entitled to throw them.

But they were cheap shots, how can anyone argue against that ?

Mayweather threw those punches when he knew that Ortiz wasn't ready.

I got no problem with him doing that, it was perfectly legal, and Ortiz probably deserved it..... but it completely ***ed the fight as a spectacle, it discredited Mayweathers performance, and it was probably completely unnecessary.

When a referee brings his hands together and says "let's go" while the official clock starts back up and you try and apologize by hugging a fighter for the fourth time, you have no one to blame but yourself.

This is what it all boils down to.

It's Ortiz' fault. No one elses.
