Worst example you could find, alright, if Louis somehow manages to destroy Vitali's rotator cuff during the fight, he might have a chance.

here a direct link to boxrec:
That basically is true, nearly all his fights up until the Title fight were supposed to have been fixed, and then he was abandoned. He was a very simple guy, whom the Mafia literally stole from his manager and friend. He lost all his fights against top opposition, except against Jack Sharkey, whom he outweighed by about 90 lbs. He was seen as actually stepping on his feet throughtout the whole fight. His win was a surprise. Appeared in a couple of movies, and later as an extra in a few, including Mighty Joe Young, which I have and in which he is eminently rcognisable.

After the War, he lost to a guy named Luigi Musina who was an Italian local lt heavy Champ, when he cameback to try to make a few dollars. Of course he was far too old and worn out by then. I remember Musina from those days. He had turned into a fair boxer and no longer the phony he spent most of his career as. He became a wrestler, and was able to make a little money which he was allowed to keep. He was regarded as not having known his fights were fixed. He died far too young.

They made a Hollywood movie reputedly of his career, with Humphrey Bogart as the cynical reporter sending in fixed reports on his progress, and Max Baer as the Champ who destroyed him in the ring. The Carnera-like guy was called Toro Moreno, I think.

It was called "The Harder They Fall" and was Bogart's last film. Sad.

Louis' "Bum of the month" was a catchy phrase coined by a quick reporter and not really true. Yes, some were "bums" or turned out to be, but many had respectable pedigrees.

Joe Louis had ABNORMAL POWER and had no trouble landing his shots..especially on slow-footed PLODDERS like the Klit Bros.

Other fighters have endured a "destroyed" (LOL) rotator without QUITTING.

It's not like he was fighting Mike Tyson..it was CHRIS FREAKIN BYRD...a mosquito compared to Joe Lous.

Mayweather didn't let an injured shoulder make him quit...and he's called a coward and a bi.tch.

Ali didn't even let a broken jaw make him quit.

I suppose being World Champion kick boxer doesn't require athleticism????

As a matter of fact, for the first part of his boxing career Klitschko still kept up his competition kick-boxing. He was only able to do this, of course, because it didn't require any atheticism....Of course......

How does Vitali have better reflexes than Louis? what? and if he tried to taunt Louis with his hands down and chin out he would get KTFO Louis had one of the fastest hands in the heavyweight division next to Patterson, Ali and Tyson. Vitali doesn't have anywhere near the speed or skill to fight in the manner that you're describing against someone as skilled as Louis.

I'm glad people still know shi.t.

The level of ignorance abounds in this joint.

They act like Joe Louis is a nostalgic fantasy or some shi.t...when in fact...the guy had NUCLEAR POWER IN BOTH HANDS..

His footwork was beautiful and he was always SET TO PUNCH.

Joe Louis fought a lot more quality opponents in a far tougher era than the Klits.
