    Preach..

Vitali keeps his feet too far apart..that means his defensive options are severely limited....Louis would be all over that clown.

Not only that....He LEANS STRAIGHT BACK like a fresh rookie.

I think its interesting how most pple say Joe Louis is number 1 in the list of the greatest Heavyweights of all time, while those exact same pple say Vitali Klitschko is "top 20".
and now we have this poll and those same pple who put Louis as number 1 and Vitali "somewhere between 15 and 20", vote that Klitschko would beat Joe Louis.

Of course, one thing is legacy and the other thing is "head to head", but on the other hand, ....aint that somehow the same? Or shouldnt it be the same? Meaning you place somebody at number 1 if you think he will beat everybody else on his best night?

Louis wins a decision, although a stoppage on cuts isnt out of the question, his speed power and accuracy would simply be too much

Carnera was considered a bum in his era...Today he'd be the long term champion.

Vitali would have been laughed out of boxing in Carnera's day.

are u serious?! vitali holds all kinds of records for most punches thrown, most punches landed, and accuracy, etc., etc. . . vitali pops out like 50 jabs a round. . . most of them land with startling accuracy and surgical precision. . . faster? i don't think so. . . move better? vitali is a RING GENERAL with very good feet and EXCELLENT head and upper body movement. . . getting off the canvas? well vitali has never tasted it, because he has one of the best chins of all time. . .

vitali would demolish joe louis . . .

im just basing my opinion on the styles and skill-sets of both fighters. . . i think louis's style would play right into vitali's hands, literally. . .

hell, not even vitali when he was younger. . vitali right now would toy with louis. . .

i don't think you guys realize how good fo an athlete vitali is. . . how excellent he is at "reading and reacting" in the ring. . . the intelligence. . . louis was a just a flat nosed, ugly pug! no game plan adjustments. . . no ability to adapt. . .

I respect Joe Louis, but you talk about his speed? Do you know that he was actually not very fast? Watch the footage. His footwork was bad too. But he had a big punch and was accurate. But that wouldnt help against Vitali cause Louis wouldnt be able to hit Vitali.

ive done plenty of studying of the sport, and i realize that boxing is comprised of multiple fistic eras. . . however, boxing has evolved. . . vitali is the perfect example of a fighter who has "evolved" from one style of fighting, to being able to read and react. . . just like mayweather - he is an evolved fighter; he doesn't have a game-plan because he doesn't need one. he just adjusts on the fly as necessary. . .

you're contradicting yourself by saying that boxing is just not one generation, by claiming that all these fighters from the past who "learned" their craft are the best. . . boxing has gradually evolved, not DEVOLVED. . .

yes, while a lot of great fighters from the past would beat fighters today, just the same, plenty of modern fighters would beat fighters from the past.

im not basing my opinion on any silly arguments of past vs. present, but rather the styles of vitali and louis, and their skill-sets.
