Don't just take my word for it. Take the word of the other 60% of voters with some common sense as well.
Joe Louis: 6-0 against 230+ opponents. Floored every single one of them.

    Vitali
3-1 against opponents under 220. Failed to floor 5'11 Bean, and quit against little Byrd.

Joe hit harder than anyone Vitali ever faced including Lennox. Lennox only had power in one hand.

All he can do is beat who is in front of him, which he has done every time save the Lewis and Byrd INJURIES! If you want to debate boxing with me at least stay on topic and make sense. You come on this site to only bash Vitali, what's that all about?

agree. . . one thing even pro-louis people should acknowledge is that the only two guys on louis's resume who might trouble vitali is marciano and charles (two guys who cleanly beat louis; no bullshyt stoppage on cuts or louis blowing his shoulder out). . . hell, ill say walcott too. . but these guys were like 185 pounds soaking wet? i know skills > size, but i just don't see these guys being able to touch vitali. .

and the only two guys on vitali's resume who have a chance at beating louis are lewis and byrd. . .

anyway i think the "resume" argument basically negates any reasonable point in the debate between who wins this matchup. . . we have seen even a prime louis get KTFO'd, outboxed SEVERAL ROUNDS, and get KD'd SEVERAL TIMES, exhibiting vulnerabilities, and we have seen a prime vitali should some weaknesses as well. . although he has never been close to being down, and was A LOT more competitive against his toughest two opponents. . . and yes, i know louis wasn't in his prime, but he still wasn't a shot fighter.

Vitali makes far too much amateurish mistakes in the ring and he gets away with it because of his piss poor opposition- look at how many right hands Lewis was able to hit him with in their fight, if Lewis could do that in that condition, you bets believe Joe could do worse.
Use some common sense here for a change. Lewis was the only fighter to ever hit Vitali on a regular basis throughout a fight. He is also an atg. Lewis outweighs Joe Louis by 50 lbs and has a huge reach advantage over almost any heavyweight in history. Him having connected on Vitali has no bearing on Joe Louis' success. If a tiny club fighter Jim Braddock and can floor a prime Joe Louis, imagine what Vitali could do to him.

You must be on crack to really think this. He was 190 lbs most of his career man, get real. That's a very small cruiserweight these days.

There's a line between having respect and just being so blinded by them that you can't see the truth. That's the problem you are having I'm afraid.

Maybe it might have something to do with the fact that Lewis is one of the only fighters that Vitali has ever fought that can be mentioned with Louis. Vitali makes amatuerish mistakes in the ring that he only gets away with because of his piss poor opposition, if he leans back against Louis he gets feinted, when he backs straight up he gets caught in a combination. And when he gets hurt...

So he has to be on crack to believe that a man capable of breaking vertebrae with a body punch, driving teeth through mouthpiece and having an opponent spit gold teeth all over the ring hits harder than anyone Vitali has ever faced? If you think I'm exaggerating I can provide evidence

Who else since Lewis was there that is man enough to face Vitali that you would give him credit for then? The man has beaten everyone he faced soundly. That's all he can do. Louis was way too small to compete with Vitali. Sorry to inform you.
