My post has nothing to with Bob, its strictly financial. Has nothing to do with my feelings about Bob. Cotto's biggest available paydays are against floyd, manny, canelo and in the future Khan. 3 of those fights are possible if Cotto leaves TR.

I have high confidence that Cotto wins a rematch.

In the first fight Miguel was going through that stage of basically training himself and his footwork was horrible, a lot of things have been corrected since then. Miguel went in there IMO believing that he was too big for Pac and allowed himself to get into trading exchanges, that's what lost him the fight at the end of the 4th. When he was using his jab he was looking good.

I believe at this point he's more mature, composed and would have the right gameplan to win the fight. The Jab is the key.

I'm not sure why people are screaming for Cotto to leave Top Rank. They made him at least 15 million in his last three fights against pretty easy opponents, with headliners in Las Vegas, MSG and Yankee Stadium.

Mayweather vs. Cotto would NOT happen if he jumped over to GB because Mayweather's big argument of "pacquiao fights my leftovers" would go out the window. Mayweather has called Cotto a shot fighter in several recent interviews. "Pacquiao beat a shot Cotto who already got beat by Margarito"

Nobody at GB means anything at 154 except Canelo and they wouldn't match him with Cotto any time soon. They are not going to risk a kid who might have another ten years in the game against a fighter with three or four fights left. Cotto would only be used by GB as a name opponent to build Canelo's resume. GB is saving Canelo for a Mayweather fight, whether it takes place in May or later on.

With TR historically keeping everthing in house it is very possible a Cotto/Pac 2, Margo/Cotto 3, JCC Jr or even a Clottey 2

That is the way TR operates.

I don't think that Floyd would fight Cotto especially when Pac already had beat him so handily

The manny's leftovers thing is floyd poppin ****. Obviously if he can make almost $50 mil he'd fight manny's leftovers in a second. Let's at least try and have a reasonable discussion about the economic realities of the sport.

The biggest payment cotto receives is from floyd. Period. After that its manny. But that is just 1 fight. What about after that?

Canelo is filling the staples center now. He and cotto would be huge on ppv. Khan, down the roa, next yearis a big event too. Chavez is already too big and getting bigger it appears. GBP has the better fights at 154 by far as well.

So financially, at this stage of his career, Cotto has at least 2 huge ppv events if he signed with GBP, while he only has one with TR, and that one likely is at 150 or whatever catchweight Bob deems appropriate.

Cotto vs Floyd may be a bigger money fight than Cotto vs Manny II.......

However if Floyd request as much money as he is accustomed to, then in no way will this be Cotto's biggest money fight.

I can see that fight doing about 1.3mil, which is barely more than 1.25 that Floyd did with Ortiz.

And if Ortiz got about 2.5mil, and Cotto is expected to get a minimum of lets say 10mil, then i dont see how Floyd will agree to such a split, considering itll mean he has to make less than he did against Ortiz, and he wont have any of that.

i think its safe to say floyd asks for a rediculous amount of money when he feels there's a chance he may lose hence makin the negotiations impossible so he wont look as bad! thats my take on how he works. now back to the discussion, cotto i feel will fair alot better against pac this time around. Im not gonna say he will beat him but he does have a better chance. This is coming from a cotto fan but at the same time im realistic about the outcome!
