No shame in struggling to beat a pretty damn good big HW. At the point of the stoppage who looked to be in worse shape? Vitali was tiring badly and face was hamburger.

If you feel you are slipping or don't have the desire, why continue to fight. Retired on top and rich and stayed gone. If he was scared he woulda pulled a Mayweather and came outa "retirement " when coast was clear.
Heavyweight title fight is 12 rounds not 5 and a half. Vitali can win 3 or 4 out of first 6 but as we know that don't win you the fight.
I really liked Lewis, he wasnt the greatest HW of all time but give him credit he was damn good and borderline top 10 all time HW.
