What a revelation last night was, it's crazy. The whole world saw what the past 2 years has really been about....Pac and Top Rank avoiding the fight. Been saying it since Pac walked from negotiations the first time and announced the Clottey fight a day or two later.
Is Pacquiao, Arum, Roach, and Team Pac ducking Mayweather???

Still, I thought the fight was a draw, but Pac won the MD. It's done with Marquez. I actuallyt hought Pac would KO him in 6-7 rounds, especially since he was already dominated at that weight over 2 years ago by Floyd and because he's not even as good as he was 2-3 years ago.Pac-May fight is already tarnished, and I am a Pacfan (you can even call me a *******. Pacquiao needs to fight Marquez first so that he can get his credibility back... Its the perception that the Floyd-Pac fight is a 50/50 fight is what makes this fight intriguing.. Ofcourse, I actually think that this fight is still 50/50 but thats not the consensus anymore.
If Pac cannot beat Marquez convincingly the next time, then the Pac-May should never be made anymore. It serves them right (both of them) for waiting this long...
Mayweather-Pacquiao is what the sport wants to see, not Pac-JMM IV. Pacquiao and Top Rank flat out refusing to negotiate a Mayweatehr fight just proves everything even the most hardcore *****'s said all along.Comment

Floyd is fighting a fighter whose only way to beat him is to actually discourage him from moving and attacking forward. Floyd is not goin to do that with one punch at the time, and at a measured pace. Floyd needs to actually exchange with Pac while making him miss to actually do that. JMM did that, not to mention that he is already familiar with Pac style, having fought 24 rounds with him already...A fighter that's willing to "get hurt" isn't very smart, especially if they could do the same amount of damaged while reducing the risk of being hit by being more defensive. The aim in boxing, is to hit but not be hit. It isn't to go out get your brains bashed in, so anonymous children on a boxing forum can say you had blood and guts.
Floyd is the most complete fighter in the game today, period. It isn't just a matter of saying Floyd is a "better counter puncher," Floyd is a better overall fighter in every category that matters.
Arum knows this too, which is why he's chasing after the man that damaged his goods instead of the man that will destroy them. Here's Arum's own words:
"We are pursuing a fourth fight with Marquez. As far as doing anything definitively, we aren't ready to do anything definitively. When we are ready to make a determination of what we are going to do, we will do it. We are not going to do this in the press. We will do what is in the best interest of ourselves and our client and make a decision when it's time to. If we decide we want to do a rematch with Marquez, there is no reason to sit down with Mayweather. If we want to explore a Mayweather fight, we will sit down with them. But I'm not going to sit down with them just because it's a good show."
~Bob Arum - November 14, 2011~
Saying that Floyd is gonna win based on just him being a boxer, and that he handidly gave it to JMM dont know what they are talkin about.
First of all triangle theories does not apply in boxing. JMM was not effective against Floyd because he was forced to lead, which is far from his comfort zone. This is different with Pac...
Styles makes fights... And if you cant figure that out then just watch how Pac easily beat Oscar, Hatton compared to Floyd... And it has nothing to do with how they were perceived to be "weak", "shot" like what most idiots here think..
Pac will always have better results against this two compared to Floyd irregardless of the situation they were when they fought them...The same that you can say that Floyd can have better results against JMM compared to Pac...Comment

Still, you can't deny that De La Hoya, Hatton, Mosley, and Marquez at 144 were all better when Floyd fought them.Floyd is fighting a fighter whose only way to beat him is to actually discourage him from moving and attacking forward. All that aside, it's Pac and Top Rank straight up refusing to do any negotiations about a Mayweather fight until a year from now, saying that want Marquez again. So, this is all a non-issue about who would beat who, simply because Pac and Top Rank are straight up refusing the fight. It's crazy how the world changes so drastically in a few short days.Comment

2 years.. Floyd took a vacation for one year and did not accept any fights. He denied any form negotiations even though the head of HBO said there was. Its not all Pac fault.. Floyd's team also has to accept the burden of why this fight is not taking place...
At least Pac now has a good reason not to accept this fight.. Except of the lame ass excuses like afraid needles (Pac) or taking a vacation (Floyd)..Comment

Mosley and DLH I might agree with you.. But not JMM and Hatton.. I am not going to go back and forth with you but I have my reason...Still, you can't deny that De La Hoya, Hatton, Mosley, and Marquez at 144 were all better when Floyd fought them.

Pac's team actually push through with the negotiations after they beat Clottey but Floyd was taking a vacation..Comment

Yes Pac beat Oscar easily but you have to recognize that Oscar was 35 and coming down to a weight he hadn't fought at in seven years. Floyd had to go up to Oscar's weight and let Oscar pick the glove and the ring size and still beat him more convincingly than Manny beat Marquez and Manny fought Marquez three times and at three different weights.Floyd is fighting a fighter whose only way to beat him is to actually discourage him from moving and attacking forward. Triangle theories don't work and I'll agree with you there but as the saying goes "styles make fights." Saturday proved what many people have been saying here for years: Manny still can't fight counter punchers. If Marquez's counter punching gave Manny problems Mayweather's counter punching will be an absolute nightmare.Comment
