Tszyu, he was rumored to fight Floyd in 2004 and 2005, when he was 33-34 or something. No doubt that had Floyd beat him, people would have said Floyd beat up on an old Tszyu. Hatton beat Tszyu handily and Floyd beat Hatton in his prime after that anyway. Johnston was NOT a duck. Floyd fought Castillo who had just beaten Johnston once and fought a draw with him (I had Castillo winning the 1st fight, and the 2nd a draw), so how was he ducking Johnston??? And this is coming from a Denver native who was the biggest Stevie Johnston fan when he was fighting, especially in his prime.
Also, as far as Margarito in 2006 and Cotto in 2008, I place that with Pacquiao in 2010. Was Floyd ducking??? I don't know. If I was Floyd, I would have fought those fights, but was Arum bulls**tting as usual back then too??? After Floyd beat Judah, he split with Arum, to which Arum said he'd never do business with Floyd again. Than, he comes out and says Floyd turned down 8 million to fight Margarito. As far as Cotto, Floyd and his team had been calling him out since 2006, to which Top Rank replied with "Cotto isn't ready for Floyd". Than, after Floyd says he's done after the Hatton fight, Cotto and Top Rank say Floyd is ducking. So, if you want to say he ducked them, fine. Your opinion.
But, anyone else could come back with the argument that Manny ducked Raheem in 2005, Guzman in 2007-2008, Mosley in 2009-2010, Berto in 2010, and Ortiz in 2011, as well as rematches with Barrera for 4 years (2003-2007), Marquez for 4 years (2004-2008) and 3 1/2 years (2008-2011), right???
Also, neither Marquez or Manny ever beat Marquez in his prime (1999-2005). He fought a draw with Marquez in his prime, and won a controversial SD over Marquez when he was past prime-still good. Also, Marquez giving Manny hell again in 2011, when he is past his prime and not that good anymore, at 144 lbs makes Floyd's win over Marquez 2 years ago look a lot better now.
You can't hide from the fact that Manny never agreed to testing, as confirmed by Koncz back in July (he said "Manny never agreed to do any testing within 14 days of the fight") and Arum a week ago (he said "Manny is finally going to call Floyd's bluff and agree to testing"). And you can't twist the fact that Mannys traight up walked away from negotiations in January 2010, refusing testing, than announced the Clottey fight a day or two later. Also, you can't hide from the facts that Top Rank and Pac are reportedly pursuing a 4th fight with JMM instead of a Mayweather fight.
