Linares is not over-rated at all. The dude is phenomenal. He basically dominated every round but the 6th, and kept demarco to single digit connects.

He didn't get broken down, worn down, outskilled out willed, he suffered bad luck, busted his nose, the cut pacman give him in training opened up, and his face was gushing blood. Last round, he couldn't see ****, so he stood and traded, and it ended up bad.

Fact is. If the ref lets the fight continue. Linares goes back to the corner perfectly fine. He gets cleaned up. And I would bet your life that he goes into the 12th round and boxes his way to a win.

Whether you think it's a good stoppage or not. DeMarco wasn't doing jack shit at all. The blood is what got this fight stopped.

I would say that lineares succumb to the cut on his nose moreso than demarco himself. however as the fight wore on he wasnt always going to be able to jab and move, at some point you dont have the energy to do that for an entire fight especially against a guy whos entire game is to get close, i sincerely think without the cut you see a different fight where Demarco loses the D12 as he was on his way to doing.

For all the hype around lineares, everyone was always brushing off the fact that he was getting dropped by smaller guys, even the announcers, they fall in love with his skills to such an extent you forget that he was letting demarco eventually fight his fight by getting in close, as skilled as he is he doesnt have the ring generalship to keep a guy off him. Lineares will always be above average, i mean, even Kahn isnt elite as he has beaten no elite fighters, he, like Kahn, against a certain style will always have an issue.

I saw Linares get hit with shots. Tried to trade shots. Then went defensive. Got hit with some shots. Blocked some shots. Evaded some shots. Well, even the fight was ended as Linares was evading to the right. Dodging a punch.

The blood is what was bad about the fight. That's why it got stopped. It looked bad because it was all over the face.

Yet, whatever fight everyone else was watching and perhaps even you. They act like it was a beatdown. "Oh. It looked like Cotto-Margarito". Now that is biased hating. You have to hate Linares to really believe that was Cotto-Margarito.

lol who hates linares I dont see much people bashing him, point is Linares was outboxing DeMarco but once DeMarco was able to get inside he was ripping him with more solid shots and eventually it wore down Linares and he was pretty busted up eventually it caught up to him in the 11th. He tried to trade cause he is a brave fighter, but DeMarco was just the better man in the end he never gave up and ya it is very simliar to Cotto-Margarito because it played out very simliar.
