And let's not forget your comparison to Tyson vs Holyfield, which pretty much displays that your opinion is not a valid one on the subject.
    exactly, man.

billy basement-trainer and other dimwits are bringing this gay street talk into a controlled sport, a competetive discipline with rules.

by the definition of boxing's fundamentals and rulebook, there are no sucker punches. your job as a fighter is to have your eyes on your opponent and be ready to defend yourself when time is in - when time is in, you can punch or be punched, period.

cortez gestured time-in 4 seconds before floyd threw that two-piece.

the crying here is hilarious, beyond words. i haven't been able to stop laughing all day.

these little dudes are so tender-hearted.

what i do blame him for is adding to the ruination of a fight that fans paid a good deal of money for. he should have been the bigger man. with that said, if ortiz had not been knocked out, none of you would be sitting here complaining about that ****. in fact, if it wasnt floyd who had did it, and if it had been to him, there would be no issue. if u didnt order the fight or pay in any way for it, u shouldnt be complaining.
He had every right to retaliate, but not in a way where he would end the fight, which he was aiming to do.

I was ready for something dirty from him but what he actually did simply shocked me

this fiasco wouldnt go under the rug anytime soon, we've got conspiracy of fixed fight, finger pointing at whose to blame and of course the questioning of the involved fighters character.

if your a boxing fan you know what you saw and respond accordingly, now if you're a floyd fan you'd keep rationalizing this a good win for floyd.

of course if youre a ***** youll keep calling everyone that criticize floyd a *******.

If you guys look at the gif closely you'll see that Floyd thought they were just gonna tap gloves and then resume action. As soon as they tapped gloves Floyd was in warrior mode. His hands were not out for a hug, they were up to protect himself and engage in battle, and poor Ortiz was in hug mode

Floyd was pissed and ready to fight already and once he's ready to fight he doesn't care if your not, those punches will keep coming (Gatti, Mosley)

I cant really blame him, if someone clearly headbutt me on purpose and then tried to act all sorry I'd still be mad and retaliate, and I probably woulda did a low blow or body slam them. I wouldn't have been nice enough to do a legal move back

My question is what the hell was Ortiz waiting for, a kiss? Apologies were over, Floyd was looking right at him and he was just standing there with his hands down. And then he looks away!! ****** on his part, scummy move on Floyd's part, and Cortez... He must have been distracted by some big ******* in the crowd because he was not paying attention to the action.

              All three are to blame.

Everything stays the same except for that moment when Floyd allows Vic to come in closer for the hug. That was the opening because Floyd knew he couldn't attack yet because there wasn't enough space for him to generate power and if he did Vic could just fall into him and clinch. Victor's left was free to throw an uppercut while Floyd was nodding his head. Left uppercut, right hook to the body.

I get where you're coming from as well. Just my opinion, let's not get too deep into the IF's of it all.

We're not going to change how ****** Victor and Cortez handled the situation.

After the foul, Ortiz hugged Floyd and kissed him on the cheek. Then immediately after, they touched gloves. The point was taken away, and Cortez signaled the fight to resume. Ortiz tried to say sorry, again, for wbat? That's his own fault, they had already touched up. Watch closely, Cortez checks with the time keeper, immediately after, Floyd threw the left-right. Legal.

The ref needs to be watching the fight, because otherwise how does Cortez know that Floyd didnt ko Ortiz with a roundhouse kick?

Floyd could see Cortez wasnt looking because Floyd had a quick look at Cortez, watch the slow motion replay.

Cheap shot? I'm glad he popped him. He already tried to apologize and hug in the corner. No need to keep doing it. Ortiz was going to get stopped and was looking for a way out and he found it. Simple as that. Again, I'm GLAD Floyd popped him in the mouth twice. Protect yourself at ALL times. ALL times. End of. And I don't care about anyone else's opinion either.

If that were Manny, they probably would have hugged and hit gloves the whole rest of the fight. I'm glad Floyd went there.
