Floyd did something that was technically legal but the way I equate it to the Tyson bite was in the result. It ended the fight, he KO'd an unprotected man.
When I saw that was the same way I feel when I see videos of street fights in which a guy is hit when he's not looking or attacked when he can't defend himself.
It truly was a cheap and disgusting act on the part of Floyd. He has no need to do that, he's the best fighter in the world.

It was indeed dirty and I didn't like it because Mayweather was on his way on winning the fight clearly and in my opinion he was going to stop Ortiz late.

As far as Im concerned, getting hit with a legal blow inside the boxing ring is not a cheap shot. And let's not forget your comparison to Tyson vs Holyfield, which pretty much displays that your opinion is not a valid one on the subject.
My opinion is very valid because I was comparing the result. They were both cheap disgusting acts that should have never happened.
Anyway, it is what it is. Floyd was going to beat Ortiz anyway but it ruined a good night of boxing.

Feel however you want. But GTFO with this bull****. I'm with you if ou say the fight felt scripted or fake. I''m with you with being disappointed for the money I spent. **** the headbutt looked wierd too.
But Vic essentially is like someone who burglarizes your home then complains because you shot him with your licensed handgun while he climbs out the window. I got a wife and kids so i'm firing, what about you?

Vic started it, floyd ended it. It looked fake, it felt scripted. That said, floyd did NOTHING wrong. Cahut compares it to the ear bite, Again, thats illegal. ANy of you that says legal, no matter how you define it, is equal or worse than illegal is full of ****.
Floyd took one for the fans in the Zab fight. He did everything some of you are asking. Now because he doesn't you wan to villify him. GTFO!!
Sorry man but sometimes its simple. If that was you are you accepting vic's apology?
Floyd can do some dirty ***** back like in Tzsyu-Hatton. But you dont just end the fight on a sucker punch. Cmon he baited him to put his arms down and then unloaded.
And took one for the fans? cmon are you say it like we the fans owe him something because he took a low blow.

I'm sorry but Ortiz was headbutting on more than 1 occasion. For all that talk they had about Floyd and his dirty antics, they were the ones using them more than anything. Once he heard Cortez say "Let's go," Ortiz should've kept his hands up or started attacking. You done hugged, kissed and apologized already. Get over your dirty move and fight. He didn't and paid the price.

Three things happened that were wrong.
First one was the headbutt by Ortiz, it was a clear foul and you could see the kid was frustrated by Floyd's defense.
Second was the sucker punch that Floyd hit Ortiz with. Legal technically but it was clearly a cheap shot that ended what could have been an entertaining fight.
Third was Joe Cortez job of the fight. He should have ushered the fighters to a neutral corner, then started the clock and then initiated the fight once again. Instead he allowed the fighters to wander in the middle of the ring and let Floyd sucker punch Ortiz.
The biggest problem I have in all of this, is that if Ortiz came towards Floyd with his hands down and Floyd was ready to fight and Floyd hit him then and KO'd him, then I would say it was Ortiz' fault. What happened though was Floyd came at him with his hands down as if to accept the apology and if you watch the replay closely, waited the second they separated from the hug and hit him with a left hook and then hit him with a right hand when Ortiz was looking at the ref like "wtf ref?"
Sorry but I can't call this a win for Floyd. He would have won anyway because I feel he was outclassing Ortiz but Floyd showed the person he REALLY is. His yelling of his father on tv, him insulting Larry Merchant and then hitting after the break like he did vs Shane, Arturo and now Ortiz shows that Floyd has no respect for anything.
Floyd is the greatest fighter I have seen in my life time and I have seen Leonard, Duran and Chavez Sr but Floyd the person has no worth. I feel sorry for all you that look up to him. Where have all the real men gone?
It also shows how sharp mayweather is in the ring, to capitalize on a situation like that. Don't know what your watching, but i clearly saw Cortez separates them, took a point from Ortiz, then brought them back together and said let's go, then motion to the timekeeper and said time-in. Ortiz mistake was he came in to hug while Floyd came to touch gloves; this allows Mayweather to get off quicker as he was more ready.
And let's be real, if it weren't for the blatant headbutt none of this would have happened.Last edited by megas30; 09-18-2011, 09:21 AM.

What Floyd did was technically legal but was one of the cheapest, low life things I have ever seen in boxing. It's up there with Mike Tyson biting Evander's ear IMO.
Ortiz should defend himself at all times but when a guy extends his hands as if to accept your apology, your not expecting to get hit.
You first said what Floyd did was technically legal yet then you compare it to Tyson biting Holyfield's ear which was extremely illegal. Some of you people don't even realise your contradictions when you're making all these arguments and comparisons.

Then vic kisses him. This whole fight wreaks but not because of floyd's punches.
