C'mon jro. Marg was at "bum" level. Roach noticed ODH was drained when he saw him running before the fight. Cotto fought at 145 (yes he said he was OK with this) and Shane looked shot vs Mayweather and Mora.

Other than maybe Hatton, who I think we can agree floyd showed he wasn't at the elite level, the opinions pre and post fight were consistent.

And since you saw manny before top rank you know exactly what I'm talking about.
what's with the selective time frame?

we're talking about now. how they are viewed and what they did in their career collectively.

and quite frankly, its not close. pacquiao had superior competition and accomplished more overall

i honestly don't know how people can rank floyd above him

Floyd didn't take no one out of the P4P #1 spot either.

And, who did Floyd move up and beat that were better than Barrera?

You really giving Floyd the benefit of every single doubt. And, making his wins better than what they really were. While at the same time downplaying the hell out of Pac and his accomplishments.

the question is who has done more in their career.

pacquiao has won 4 lineal titles, came up on top in what people say the golden era of the featherweights, won fights he isn't supposed to win, and the have been the number 1 or 2 guy in the sport for about 5 years now.

how does that not measure up to floyd?
Manny fought Ledwaba, Barrera, Marquez, Morales (twice), and Solis in their primes.

Mayweather fought Corrales, Hernandez, Chavez, Castillo (twice), N'dou, Judah, Hatton,a nd now Ortiz in their primes.

How did both do??? Mayweather beat everyone. Pacquiao beat Ledwaba and Barrera, than had a draw with Marquez. Then, he lost to Morales, and came back to beat Morales, and than beat Solis.

That's examing both fighters against prime good fighters.

If you take the bias out of it, Manny has fought a total list of better names, while Floyd fought some of those names as well as other names when they were more credible for sure. For example, people get on Mayweather for not giving Oscar a rematch, even though it was clear who won, but they never get on Pac for only giving Barrera a rematch 4 years later when he past it. Again, he was only willing to fight Marquez again 4 years later when he was no longer prime. Manny beat Barrera in his prime once, and drew with Marquez in his prime. Then, he split with Morales in his prime. By the 3rd fight, Morales was questioning retirement because he said he "didn't have it anymore". Mayweather beat prime versions of Corrales, Castillo (twice), Hernandez, Chavez, Judah, Hatton, and now most likely Ortiz.

Pac has the total list of better names, but no way should Mayweather be overlooked as he fought more prime fighters and event he past prime guys when they were more credible coming off wins. The Clotteyw in was crap and even worse than Mayweather's Baldomir win if you ask me. Clottey hadn't won in 2 years, at least Baldy had just upset Judah and hadn't lost in 8 years.

It's even now, but Pac choosing to fight Marquez instead of Ortiz when he had the chance opned up a lot of people's eyes I think.

The 1st paragraph not only states the article was updated October 2009, but it clearly states that it was written after Pac beat Hatton. Which is what I originally said in the 1st place LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So was the Oscar fight considered a mismatch in Pac favor?

So Cotto was weight drained? Cool.

Mosley was shot when he fought Floyd...Is what you're saying? Cool.

As I mentioned before I think overall Manny's resume is better, and that's coming from a Floyd fan. My main issue is why people say Manny's resume is better. To be completely honest nothing that Mayweather or Pac have done above 140 has really impressed me or defined them as fighters. I think Pac's run above 140 has been one of the biggest scams in boxing history, nonetheless casual boxing fans define his career on this. In my opinion Pac's career was defined below 135lb. Pac's wins below 135 tip his resume to be slightly better than Floyd's. The interesting part about that though is the fact that many people (including myself) feel that Floyd might have been the best 135lber ever.
