True, but we're talking about from an illegal hand wraps perspective.

If Marg was in fact using plaster, should Floyd still have fought him?

        Floyd shoul have fought him.

The only excuse acceptable for Floyd not fight him is that he knew he was cheating.

If Floyd did know this he should have informed the authorites, and made sure Uncle Roger checke those wraps properly before the fight.

Take a look at Floyd's entire WW record, starting from late 2005, and you may get an idea why Margarito is not in the list.

11/19/05 - S. Mitchell (KOed by Tszyu just before Floyd)
04/08/06 - Z. Judah (lost to Baldomir just prior to Floyd)
          11/04/06 - C. Baldomir (had 9 losses before Floyd)
          12/08/07 - R. Hatton (a LWW)
09/19/09 - J. M. Marquez (a LW who was even cheated in the scales by Floyd)
05/01/10 - S. Mosley (38 years old and way past prime)

And these are the missing names who were top contenders in the WW division from late 2006, to 2007, 2008, 2009 until the middle of 2010:
          Antonio Margarito
          Miguel Cotto
          Paul Williams
          Joshua Clottey
          M. Pacquiao

Great, so you've always believed that Pacquiao should go through random drug testing for the fight.

Pacquiao and any other boxer should take whatever tests or procedures the commission decides them to take.

You forgot to mention that Mosley had 17 months of ring rust on him and
Marquez was a career featherweight, jumped 3 weights in just over a year.

But very good round up of Floyd's career at welter.

I hate to play devil's advocate, but you made me do it.

If Floyd takes those fights, here's what you say:

Antonio Margarito - Guy already lost to Daniel Santos 2x of all people.

Miguel Cotto - Had life and death wars with Judah, Corley, Torres, and Mosley.

Paul Williams - This would've been a good win for Floyd, but you still would've said Williams was in a life and death battle with Matthysse. Who's Matthysse.

Joshua Clottey - Never beat anyone substantial.

                  M. Pacquiao - LW who was in life and death battles with Morales, Marquez, and the 2 other fighters he lost too..

Viewers keep in mind, these aren't my personal arguments. I'm just showing you how it's a no win situation for Floyd either way.

Maybe with Clottey, with all the other I called for those fight for Mayweather to take.

The fights that Mayweather took at welter, I never called for one of them.
