Yepp exactly. Getting beat by Sakarabu, comn give me a break. He is the most overrated fighter of all time. The gracies are really boring and they are not crowd pleasers. I was never a big fan. Look at Fedor and his style. He dominates on the ground and in stand up and makes it exciting. The gracies just lie around and hold on and do nothing. Thats why people would rather watch Rampage Jackson than a gracie. I like what they are doing with Bushido, "action" or get the boot

Not sure, there is a draft in Russia so its likely. I know Sergei Kharitanov developed as a fighter from the army.

the russian draft has a bad rep anyway . not the luckyest moment in a russian life .

I just like the Gracies because I am interested in every facet of the fight game, and my Judo background keeps me interested in Jui-Jitsu. I'd still like to see some fighters go into the UFC using pure styles of Martial Arts, like Akido, to show some of these so-called Martial Artist what it really is about.

Yepp, they send you right to Chechnya to fight for absolutely nothing. Most people who have connections get around the draft anyway. I don't know most wear the russian uniform like Kharitanov personifies a mercanery.

Cant speak for all but knowing people who got into spetnaz and hearing stories about people who got into it not many make it out of there. They make a real killer out of you. You move up to politician security etc. Speaking about Ukrainian special forces here but structure wise its teh same as in Russia.

My dads friend went from a police officer to a special forces unit and was changed completly, never spoke the same again, they just do something to you, no emotion nothing.

You have no idea...Pride already won a long ****ing time ago...
If you're talking about "america" then maybe!...the ufc is garbage compared to the REAL mma orgs..

The ones featuring olympic athletes & sambo elites...Go to japan once in your life and you'll understand how different the mentality over there.. Do you know how many people are there, live to watch these Pride fc fights? Minimum 25 000 , MINIMUM!
The last Pride's gand prix had an attendance of 43 700 fans!
the saitama super arena is ****ing huge.

Guys like Mirko filipovic , Fedor emelianenko , Gomi , Wanderlei Silva are often stopped in the streets over there, because they're famous unlike in america. But who gives a ****?
MMA is evolving fast. America is another story.. MMA will never be an american sport anyway. It's an international sport. But unlike Soccer, it's banned in loads of countries.
That's still a major problem, but since the last 10 to 15 years, mma's popularity became even bigger..

The UFC and their ****ing retarted reality show "TUF" have both a very negative influence of the sport imo though. It's a shame that Pride fc will never be allowed in america.

They tried to have a show once in LA , at the staple center but couldn't because The US laws bans Stomps, soccer kicks, shoes, gis, knees to the head on a downed opponent and the ring.

Pride can only be seen on TV. And still! they sometimes censor the combats for the american audience!
when they aired the jackson vs UFC's liddell fight (in japan and under pride fc rules).

Liddell got demolished but the ending was cut , Fedor vs Fujita was also partly edited. (no kicks were shown).
It's bull**** and it proves that america is not ready for the real form of mma.

With those small gloves, it wouldn't matter how much Jui-Jitsu they know, a knockout is a knockout.

So many of those guys who are so-called "strikers" are so tentative in there to a point where they don't land punches. Still, MMA interests me, as do all combat sports. Boxing is just the best.
Nonsense.. a world class boxer wouldn't last a minute..If you really did wrestling for 5 years you'd know that the boxing stance is the worst of all for mma type fights.
The fastest puncher in the world, the strongest one..wouldn't last long..A prime tyson would be delt with in no time...

What the **** is a boxer gonna do, when the wrestler shoots for the legs? NOTHING!...his ****ing punches won't stop anything because they can't reach so low to begin with.
If you really did wresltling and judo you'd know this.

This is a sport where the ****tiest punchers in the world can beat the top ones because they don't have to deal with strikes.
