You can't "hold on" in mma like boxers do. If a guy dares to do a **** like that and "holds on" his opponent , he'll receive a knee to the chest , and once the guy is down, He'll get his face stomped , and game over! and if there's no stomps, he'll get soccer kicked ..or subbed in no time.

Still this doesn't prove that they make 2-5 mil for each fight. From what I know, they don't make millions for each fight. This tells you that MMA is not that big of a sport in the world, you couldn't find me one link from the internet & what is internet??? Internet gives you every info from the world.

As fo popularity contest.....does MMA has their Muhammad Ali, or Tyson, or Roy Jones, Duran, Sugar Ray Leonard etc etc etc. All these boxers I mentioned are well known all ova ta werld. I dont think MMA can touch boxing.

Good boxers in big fights are making anywhere from $1 million - $10 million for big PPV fights ($20-$30 million if your name is Oscar).
Someone call me when Lidell starts making that kind of dough, it'll never happen. UFC is more of a fringe sport than boxing ever will be.

A useless PPV every month that means nothing in the big scheme of things.

Boxing will always be bigger with way more money involved.

UFC's a fad that was hot when it first started then faded a bit with the ground and pound era, now it's a bit better. But does anyone else notice that the most entertaining UFC fight in it's history was between two rookies who didn't know any better? The most exciting UFC fights are when they stand upright and trade JUST LIKE BOXERS DO! The rest of it is boring crap, wrestling on the floor for 15 minutes, no thanks. Not to mention as soon as someone gets hit with a clean shot it's pretty much over.
They have no stars, no personalities, UFC is boring and will never reach the heights of popularity boxing has.

I was at the Castillo-Corrales II fight and the owner of UFC was sitting ringside. He can crap all he wants on boxing but he knows just as others do that prize fighting is where the real action and excitement is, it's an event.
Few people care about who Lidell is fighting next, nobody cares.
You don't see too many boxers or other stars at UFC shows.

Not, it's not better than mma. It's different. Both are different sports. One is more popular because it isn't banned. it's part of america's culture. MMA is not.

Does mma has their ali or tyson? Well, if you're talking about mma legends or mma's best ever. Yes they do. Fedor Emeliananeko is already a living legend He's the best sambo/judo HW fighter in the world. Antonio rodrigo nogueira & sakuraba are legends too.

MMA can't touch boxing because of the reasons I previously mentioned. So it's logical. There's no point arguing this over and over again.

That's not the point though..
The point is, that mma is a real sport. with rules. with real and complete athletes. Pride fc represents the best judo,sambo,wreslting,brazlian jiu jitsu fighters in the world.
