martinez fighting barker makes no sense to me. but i would have no issue with him snatching up jr's belt and a career payday. hes done enough to deserve it so i give him the benefit of the doubt. i, by no means, think hes afraid of fighting any of these guys.
JCCjr is the son of a legend. And unfortunately we have to deal with the politics. I will quote what Quillin responded to Dibella about JCCjr. "As far as JCCjr is concerned, I cannot speak on his behalf." When it comes to Quillin, everyone from Don King to Dibella to Gotham to Golden Boy have wanted him. He sells tickets anywhere. He has 1/2 of the Hip Hop industry calling to put him in videos like Swizz Beats did. We're going to have to wait a bit before the division or any division for that matter heats up again.

You can't give Martinez a pass for not fighting the likes of Quillin, Pirog nor Golovkin while his next opponent is Barker.

You're saying that the fight doesn't make any sense. But, still willing to give him a pass for taking such a fight. While asking these other guys to fight so and so...That doesn't make any sense to me.

Yes it's totally fine for Martinez to look at JCC Jr. Because, it's a money fight and Martinez is what? 36yrs old? However, lets get it clear that this is a money fight and nothing more. JCC Jr is not ready for such a fight maybe never will be, and NO JCC Jr is not more deserving than the likes of Pirog or Golovkin for that matter. Nor is JCC Jr better than Pirog, Golovkin, or Quillin. Hell like I said before I think Rubio might spark him out.

And, you can't say that JCC Jr should "man up" while telling the ones who want to "man up", but yet being ignored, to fight so and so first.

I'm still waiting for someone, anyone to tell me who has Barker fought. I thought that's what this thread is about. There is a reason freddi keeps mentioning Quillin. If this was a movie, it would be called foreshadowing. That's giving you a clue on what's going to happen later in the movie.
dude, i respect ur interest in an up incoming fighter but dont do that. and i have just about lost all respect for bute, so no need to tell me about him refusal to fight a decent fighter. quillin just has to keep putting in work and he'll gain the respect he deserves. i have nothing against him, just stated the truth

u misunderstand. im not giving him a pass for that fight. i pan that fight, its inexcusable imo. im not giving him a pass. what i said was directed only at the jr fight.

and i dont think jr should man up or anything. i kno why he wants to avoid martinez. but i do think martinez is entitled to such a fight. i mean seriously martinez has been consistently fighting good comp up until the barker fight, hes exciting and hes been willing to fight just about anyone in the past. hes at the top of the division. why would i side with a bunch of up in comers who want to overstep each other for the top dog? their future is in their hands, not sergios. sergio made his bones. u respect fighters who do what he did, the barker fight notwithstanding.

Actually I spoke the truth in correcting you. U said he had no belt. he has 1. U said he has no chips, he has plenty, trust me! He trains A list celebrities. U said he doesn't draw, he sells out and most of his fights have been re-aired with him as the Main event although he was on the undercard. Please google, youtube or whatever else need be. If i'm lying, i'm dying. I spoke with Bute in Canada, you can see the punk in his eyes. So we at least agree there.

Agreed! I think JCCjr should lose the belt to Martinez, Quillin gets 3 more fights then strips the old man. Look at the stunt Simms just pulled? He said he broke his rib because his cup rose up when he dropped and slipped a punch. Then he says I know I would have beat Quillin. HE LOST TO A NUT CUP! I doubt he even has a broken rib. He'll pay a doctor to lie and have the only quick recovery to fight a lesser opponent because he is only 3 fights from retirement if that much. I'm a rookie at this blogging, but I learn quick. I'm a boxing fan for 30 years. So please do not confuse my affinity for The Kid Chocolate with my knowledge of the sport. I am currently working with 4x Jr. Olympic Champion, National Silver Gloves Champion and a whole bunch of other titles Josue Vargas. Petey was 19 yrs old when i took him under my wing.

Some here might disagree but at this point, Sergio Martinez has the fight to ask for what ever fight he wants. Just like Manny and Mayweather, no matter how much you disagree, he has earned to come out and demand his fight and its surprising that Roach will criticize it considering the crappy choice Manny has taken lately. Oh, Mayweather does it too.

And of course Quillin would be tougher for Martinez but like i said and like it or not, Martinez is a top fighter and he wants his money and that's it. As a boxing fan, i would much rather him fight Quillin because Chavez sucks.

Roger that. I lost respect for Floyd when he dodged Pacman's bullet. Now Pac is pulling some of the same stuff. While they're bank accounts balloon during one of the worst economic time of our country, we get some of the worst fights of all time!

Besides looking forward to a title shot for Quillin, I really would like to see some real battles in the ring like the old days.
