Martinez should fight some feather-fisted guy and then purposely lose some rounds to him so fighters stop ducking Martinez. Its clearly obvious that fighters are avoiding Martinez until it looks like he has slowed down.

Roach has even become a hater like the Mayweather family and talks crap about Martinez being crap. Didn't Freddie say Cintron beat Martinez? Thats funny, because Freddie obviously didn't even watch that fight.

the jr MW limit is 154 if Pac wants to meet at 150 again then please stop calling him a 8 division champion. And yes Jr and Matinez are confirmed to meet in 2012, so far, but if he is not that good then why wait till then? Why not put Jr in with some real competion now? He is a champion and needs a big name to justify his shady belt. Instead he trys to sell this garbage. I agree with DiBella on this one. Wonder what they will come up with next?

Pacquiao is NOT calling himself anythin. That's the PR department, and when he beat Margarito he was, for the moment, an 8 div titlist. But he GAVE THAT TITLE UP, and stated unequivocally, that he would NOT fight in that division. He would fight no higher than 147.

That was CLEAR, and easy for anyone to understand. He also said that (even thought he beat Margarito badly) that he had been much burt by some heavy shots, and I believe him. He is too small, and can't continue to be a Superman, going up higher and higher in weight, until he finally meets someone who will half kill him. That is not his design and he would be crazy if it were.

It is the desire of those who want spectacle, and want to see this great fighter humbled and broken, in the dust. This is not boxing, but sadism.

Martinez himself seems cowardly for for trying to taunt Manny P. to get him into the ring, where he will be, not only a reigning, dominant middleweight champ, but, by squeezing down to 154, where he regularly fought just a couple of years ago, can refuel and rehydrate to about 175, which will give him such an enormous advantage over MannyP. that he is bound to seriously injure the little guy. That's not either Sport, nor Sporting. he should straighten up his thinking .and fight those of his own size.

All this despite the fact that Pacquiao and his camp have repeatedly stated, since the Margarito fight, that he will NOT go even as high as that again.

It seems to me-and correct me if I'm wrong, please- that what you want fighters who feel they are NOT good enough to fight certain champions, to actually get in there, so that they can be bashed up and brutalized, just for the spectators' gratification.

No fighter with common sense would do that. He has only his own body and his 2 hands to make his living, for himself and his dependants. He would wait until he thinks he has a fair chance. As ANY normal person would. I get no "thrills" from seeing fighters smashed up and brutalised. I've seen far too many, and too many have either died, or got senile dementia at a far too early age. They deserve better of us.

I don't think so exactly. I think that Arum might pick whichever opponent will resulkt in the largest finacial return, and Roach will tell Arum whether his fighter will be able to handle it or not......Seems common sense to me.

Promoter Lou DiBella erupted over the comments that were made by trainer Freddie Roach, who in a recent interview criticized the boxing ability, and the actual worth, of middleweight king Sergio Martinez. Roach wants to match his unbeaten super middleweight Peter Quillin against Martinez. DiBella says it's ironic that Roach would offer up Quillin, but refuses to allow Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. to defend his WBC middleweight title against Martinez. The WBC ordered Chavez to defend his belt against Martinez, the mandatory challenger, by March of next year.

Anyone that has seen Quillin spar with Chavez will agree that Quillin is not only better, but will take over the middleweight division. ASK WILD CARD pugilists.
