Why FMJ needs to fight Cotto

We have been waiting for the FMJ/Pac fight for three years now and still no fight. How much longer do we have to wait? How many of the top WWs has FMJ fought during his entire campaign in this division? Stop being naive. He may eventually fight Pac, but when?
What I am suggesting is the next best thing if Pac and FMJ will not fight.

how easily was cotto mayweather made once slave master arum wasnt involved? everybody knows its arum blocking this fight now. i understand the pinoy pride thing and that you gotta defend your mans honor but be honest its arum.

So after the TS is *****ing and moaning why Floyd is not fighting Cotto, the TS then makes a another Floyd Hate thread after Floyd makes a fight with Cotto, and complains why Floyd is picking 8ozers. I mean seriously dude. You complain about Floyd either way.

Based on this lame a$$ thread, you should be praising Floyd for taking Cotto on in a weight that had Manny running for the hills and letting Cotto use the punchers Gloves at a weight they don't normally use them at. Dang Floyd is taking Cotto at his best with out any pu$$ie A$$ manny catch-weight and even goes out of his way to give Cotto the oppurtinity to wear the punchers gloves!!

You seem to be a little short up there. The whole point of this thread was to show that it was, and is, a good idea for Floyd to face Cotto. This was even before anyone thought this fight could happen. Most of you Floyd fans were against the idea and were dismissing this suggestion as something not worthwhile for Floyd. Just go back and read the posts.

Now that my suggestion has become a reality you still find something to complain about.
In the other thread, which unfortunately was stopped by the mod for reasons I can't understand, I was questioning the motives of Floyd for asking for 8 oz gloves for a 154 against Cotto but wanted 10 oz against Pac.

If you read this thread from the very start you will see that I was suggesting and advocating for a Cotto/Mayweather fight. I am glad that this is now actually happening. We can now have a better assessment of how good Floyd really is. However, once again Floyd has probably made the outcome of this fight under a question mark, especially if he wins by due to a cut on Cotto. By asking for 8 oz gloves for this fight which requires 10 oz, shows once more how Floyd is determined to get every advantage he can get to fulfill his goal of SELF PRESERVATION. It is not enough that he gets the lion share of the purse, his choice of venue, the bigger billing, etc., he must also get every advantage inside the ring even before the start of the fight.
And the problem with you Floyd defenders is your consistent blind approval and defense of Floyd's shenanigans.

Reasons why it would be good for FMJ to fight Cotto:

The fight would generate more PPV numbers than any fight available to FMJ outside of Pac or Martinez. More money for Money May.
Canelo on the same day would generate more
Ring Magazine ranks Cotto the #1 in JMW, a division where they do not have a champion. If FMJ wins, he can proclaim himself as the man in that division. And... Cotto owns a belt.
Yea, then they'd each have their own division. He wouldn't be champ, but he'd be the #1
He can prove to everyone that he is better than Pac by defeating Cotto more decisively than how Pac did it.
After the 5th round, Pac had him on beat. So if Mayweather can do it by the 5th round then yea. I say 5th round because that's when he was clearly spent and couldn't do anything

He can dispel the notion of some that he only wins in fantasy fights.

its not unusual. You have to take into account Floyd is a different fighter now then previously. He's not this mover, boxer anymore. He fights guys now. He think's he can stop Cotto.

A guy like Gatti cuts non stop but people still wouldnt wanna fight him with smaller gloves because he is the bigger puncher and thats his best chance to win.

Trust me, if this was Floyd from 5 years ago then he wouldnt want those small gloves. It has lil to do with Cotto cutting and way more to do with Floyd just being a more offensive fighter now who think's he can hurt or stop guys while also thinking that he's more comfortable at the higher weights now so punches wont bother him.

I mean he spars huge guys with smaller gloves right now. It dont have to do with Cotto. It just has to do with Floyd's change in style
