Is FMJ the same as he used to be before becoming a WW?

            Floyd shouldn't do it now
he didn't have the balls to do it when it mattered
            This.

This fight only happens when Floyd knows he can't lose the fight, even now he knows Cotto has never lost to a boxer. I'd favor Floyd in this fight as well, but being favored isn't enough for Floyd.

It would have been better if Floyd and Cotto fought a long time ago. Like before Cotto lost to Margs and Pac. Now it really wouldn't be a good fight. Cotto has already shown that he a lost a step. He can still fight but not like he used to.

Besides it's not like Arum would let Floyd fight Cotto anyway. Not only that but what kind of recognition would Floyd get for beating him? The critics would just say he beat Pac leftovers. A damaged goods fighter.

People can bring up Marquez as Pac's leftovers but here's the thing. Pac beat Marquez by decision in a fight many people thought he lost. That includes pretty much all the press. Even the Filipino press. Pac beat Cotto by TKO and there is no debate that Cotto got smashed in that fight.

So what if Pac and Margo smashed Cotto! It does not validate that FMJ can do the same thing. He has fought none of the three. Can Cotto beat FMJ and vice versa? Who knows definitively. The only way to find out is for them to fight each other.

You do realize that when a fighter goes through two beatdowns like that it does take the prime out of him right? Especially with Marg who may have been cheating in that fight. Cotto is not the same fighter that he was before that fight. Beating a bum knee Foreman and a old Mayorga doesn't prove anything.

That being said since Cotto is no longer the fighter he was before that takes the luster out of the matchup with Floyd. You and maybe a few others actually like that matchup. The *******s can talk all the smack they want about Floyd not fighting Cotto but if he did and beat him they would still criticize him to no end.

By your logic then Hearns was a spent fighter after being 'smashed' by Hagler and Ali should not have fought Foreman after he was knocked down and beaten by Frazier who was 'smashed' by Foreman. Lastly, Frazier should not have re-matched Ali since he was already ruined by Foreman.
Many more examples can be cited to show how weak your argument is but I guess I cannot change your mind.
