Another dumb poster. Go ahead, show us where there is a mention of Floyd ducking Cotto.
You Floyd fanatics were totally against this fight as proven by the earlier posts on this thread. I was advocating for this fight even before Floyd himself considered it. This thread was started even before the Floyd/Ortiz fight.
You guys got collectively owned and you don't even realized it.Comment

Funny how half of these "It'll never happen, but it'll be great if it does" changed into "Floyd is cherry picking Cotto". S**t's asinine.
It's a good fight and an important one for Floyd's career and resume. It's very important he gets Cotto on there, and it helps that it's at 154 lbs.Comment

Show us your list of fights at 154, not 150 or 147, where the gloves used were 8 oz. If you can do that then I would agree with you that asking for 8 oz for a 154 fight is not unusual.its not unusual. You have to take into account Floyd is a different fighter now then previously. He's not this mover, boxer anymore. He fights guys now. He think's he can stop Cotto.
A guy like Gatti cuts non stop but people still wouldnt wanna fight him with smaller gloves because he is the bigger puncher and thats his best chance to win.
Trust me, if this was Floyd from 5 years ago then he wouldnt want those small gloves. It has lil to do with Cotto cutting and way more to do with Floyd just being a more offensive fighter now who think's he can hurt or stop guys while also thinking that he's more comfortable at the higher weights now so punches wont bother him.
I mean he spars huge guys with smaller gloves right now. It dont have to do with Cotto. It just has to do with Floyd's change in styleComment

im speaking of your reasoning that Floyd is doing it. There is no way in hell you are going to convince me or anyone else that a puncher would rather fight with bigger gloves. There is no case where the bigger puncher would rather have bigger gloves. I bet anything that Cotto didnt fight this at all. He loved it when Floyd brought it upComment

I probably missed it, but I can't seem to recall what size gloves Cotto has been using since he moved up to JMW. Can you enlighten me on this?im speaking of your reasoning that Floyd is doing it. what does that have to do with anything? So if Floyd decided he wanted to wear 14oz gloves, that would favor Cotto, right? It makes no sense. Dont tell me that the softer puncher has the advantage with smaller gloves.
Even if what you said was true(which it isnt). Cotto's cuts are more than offset by Floyd's brittle hands. Floyd doesnt have any advantage with the smaller gloves and Im sure Cotto wouldnt & didnt complain in any wayComment
