If you want to prove Pacquiao is greater you should compare a-list victories and the status of the opponent at the time of the fight, amount of title defenses, feats that will go down in history etc.
    Excellent post.

While pacman has been favored in most of his biggest wins,B-Hop wasn't favored in his. That is also another huge, huge issue when deciding who's greater IMO.I mean if a man beats someone he's supposed to beat anyway, what's so great about that??But when a man is supposed to lose & destroys the favorite, that's greatness.
On the contrary i think the fact that people make BH the underdog is telling everyone he isnt as good as we are now believing him to be. If you are expected to beat everyone, that is high praise already, and if you win like Pac does your praise of Pac is justified.

But BH is underdog against not great fighters so that is more telling than anything. If he was underdog against Ali and he beats him thats one thing. Being underdog against the pascals, and Pavliks and Tarvers of this world isnt really anything to be proud of really.

That's ur opinion bro, good for U.But allow me to tell mine,B-Hop being the underdog against the fighters he fought,IMO shows that he chose to fight greater men.For example,Tito was blowing fools out the water when him & B-Hop threw down.He was the underdog against Tarver, real champ at 175.He was an underdog against Pavlik, undefeated lineal champion at 160 & expected to be ko'd.He fought dangerous guys & whooped them almost every time.

Pacman fights shot 40 year olds like Mosley,(who gets the blame)when pacman can't knock em out.He fights cheating stablemates that got ko'd previously. He needs catchweights when his opponents may be dangerous. All that tells me is he does a fabulous job of cherrypicking because 90% of casual boxing fans adore him for it.

no. you still have to look at the entire resume.
My thing is that both parties have HOF resumes but IMO Bernard should b above Manny and thats because his competition has been far better then Manny's and hasnt come in catch w8 form nor has his opponets been broken, and old(except for the Roy fight) plus yea, at his older age he's beating ppl half his age that are quick and more athletic then him. Manny wins off pure athletisism, benard wins off of ring IQ and experiance.

Pacquaio of course but I think there is no doubt that Hopkins has cemented himself as the third best fighter from this era. Better than Roy Jones Jr, Dela Hoya, or MAB etc etc.

This is actually a decent argument for Manny Pacquiaos greatness.

Despite the physical and mental disadvantages he was forced upon by being born asian, he still managed to be a great athlete and fighter.

Similar to the physical disadvantage b-hop has as an old man.

                      Interesting.
