Although I'm not a big PAC fan and I don't like some of team pacs decisions there's no way he can be considered bad for boxing.

8:30 CBS 60 Minutes 3.3 Rating 13.966 million viewers
So 14 million viewers stuck around for Manny, in the second hour of the program, after *****'s segment.
Are you still LMFAO?!!! Well, are you?
And then you have to consider that the highest paid American athlete, Alex Rodriguez, only tied Pacquiao in earnings... before PPV bonuses and endorsements were taken into account.
But yeah, America doesn't care about Pacquiao... even though he makes the vast majority of his money here, is the highest paid athlete in the world, averages 2 million PPV buys here, fills arenas and stadiums here, has TV programs dedicated solely to him airing on Network primetime television, etc and so on.
Best to just take the L and keep it moving. It was fun while it lasted though
Tiger Woods is the highest paid athlete in the world by a mile...I don't know where you got ARod from...

Again...you need to lay off the idiocy on philboxing...and he doesn't average 2 million ppv buys...he averages around 1 million per fight...
Why are you so butthurt that I am saying Pacquiao isn't that popular here compared to other athletes? He is a very interesting story and deserves his segments on 60 minutes, but you know hardly anybody was tuning in because Manny Pacquiao was going to be on 60 minutes...if you actually believe that you need to get your head checked for mental *******ation...
One of the most common tactics of someone who just got their ass kicked in an internet debate is to say something and declare victory...Last edited by Saddlebred; 04-28-2011, 12:16 PM.

Well as of late hardcore fans aren't too proud of him but in no way is he bad for the sport, he has almost everyone talking about him.

Just pointing out your fallacious 'logic' when you say Americans don't care about Pacquiao but the FACTS say otherwise. If no one in the U.S. cares about him, no one told his accountant or CBS, ABC, Showtime, HBO, Jerry Jones, Steve Wynn, etc.
And if anyone has been getting KO'd in this it is you by a mile...OK.
Be sure to tune into ABC tonight, CBS primetime on Saturday, 60 minutes on Sunday. Some guy no one's ever heard of or cares about is doing something or other on those networks/programs
Take it easy bro.

I'm just going by guaranteed pay (salaray or purse) as reported by ESPN for 2010, doesn't take into account any bonuses or endorsements. A-Rod and Pac were tied at the top of the list at $32 million earned.
And if he fights 2x a year... what's the yearly average? Take your time.
How am I 'butthurt'?

Anybody you ask on the street could list several active baseball players, football players, basketball players...but if you asked them who is Manny Pacquiao or who is Floyd Mayweather Jr, probably 7 out of 10 people would have no clue and the other 3 out of 10 would know who both are...I don't know where this idea that Pacquiao is this huge superstar in America came from, but it just isn't the case. Plenty of people know who C Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Lionel Messi are here in the states, but the vast majority don't know and don't care. The same goes for Pacquiao and Mayweather. America doesn't give a ****.
I watch SportsCenter everyday...they only talk about boxing if someone dies, someone gets arrested, a really old fighter retires, other than that it gets a short little 2 minute segment after a huge fight. Boxing is pretty much dead in America.
Btw, you can watch SC all you want and cry about how it doesn't feature much boxing at all.
But it doesn't really need to,
since it has a show dedicated to the damn sport.
Friday Night Fights on ESPN.
lmao @ plenty of people know who Ronald, Messy and Lyno are.

I see your premise. There's a lot of string pulling behind the scenes that you probably dislike and want to bestow it at the feet of Pac, but that's unfair. Pac is good for the sport. As are all the guys willing to step inside that squared circle and get it on. The only thing that perhaps is bad for the sport is the individuality of the en******. Top Rank does what's best for Top Rank. As does GBP, Goosen, Haymon, King, etc. When the game is played like that, people will search for the biggest payout at the lowest cost. So just because Arum is keeping the money in house by pitting Pac against in house fighters, doesn't mean it's wrong. This isn't the first time in history it has happened and it won't be the last. The only thing I see as bad that can be attributed to Pac is him fighting for titles at catchweights. That's bush league, but hey...what can you do?
