  • NO FUCIN WAY!!!

Mayweather would box CIRCLES around Ortiz and get a UD...EASY! Nothing against Ortiz, he is a talented young fighter and could pose some problems at 147, but he is NOT READY for Mayweather or Pacquiao just because he beat Berto

someone like Cintron would be a good match up for him, Mike Jones would be another great match up between two young fighters

Kell Brook would be a great match up also, Kotelnik also moved up to 147, that would be a pretty good match up IMO

of course people will say "Nobody thought he would beat Berto"...but Berto is NO Pacquiao or Mayweather THAT IS FOR SURE!

I know people HATE Mayweather but LETS NOT GET CRAZY! Mayweather is still a GREAT BOXER and it is going to take A LOT to beat him even with a YEAR LAY OFF, but when you start throwing around Victor Ortiz and Robert Guerrero as guys that can possibly beat him...YOUR REACHING BIG TIME!

Ortiz is more dangerous to Mayweather than what Manny is imo. Ortiz is big, strong, powerful, consistent, a lefty, but one who has a good jab, and sound fundamentals.

A worry for Ortiz in a fight with Mayweather, is whether Ortiz is good enough at cutting the ring down when pressing, if Mayweather was able to draw him foward and was trying to use his movement to offset him.

Ortiz is a skilled, consistent, 5ft 9, power punching lefty. That would give Mayweather problems imo.

I give Manny little chance of beating Mayweather.

Manny's defense isn't good enough when on the the front foot, he doesn't have the ability to create his openings aside from feinting his way in, as he has no jab. Mayweather would paint Manny with lead right hands, counters uppercuts when he was shooting in with the big left, offset him with movement imo. Mayweather just has more ways to win against him, than what he has against Mayweather, not to mention the physical disparity between the two in terms of length.

I'd rather seen Mayweather vs Ortiz, only I think Floyd is smart enough to understand that Ortiz potentially posses a lot more problems stylistically.
Though I disagree with you, I just hope that Mayweather would actually fight....at least fight......

Those guys also have longer arms than Manny so while they landed while Floyd was in range does not mean Manny can do the same.

It was overhand rights, punches manny has in his arsenal. Should I go back and explain to you the point of that post or would u like to read the entire thread to see where I was coming from and what I was really talking about

          • LMAO@This Thread

5 Days ago this dude Ortiz was a crybaby/P-U-S-S-y/quitter...now he beats "BERTO" and all of a sudden magically will give Mayweather a better fight than Manny?

            WTF is BoxingScene coming to?

It was a wide ass left hand if you are talking about the one that hurt Floyd and it certainly wasn't a right because it came from his power hand and Chop Chop is a south paw.

Your post speaks for itself, you can try and justify bullshit by saying whatever doesn't change the fact that it is bullshit. Your reasoning is flawed and if you have to go that route you realize that.

The point of the thread was not that Ortiz is the guy or a guy to beat Floyd it is that the thread starter is not giving Manny virtually any shot. He has reasons behind why he thinks that way which are pretty sound.

read the title. point of the thread is that he gives ortiz a better shot than manny vs floyd, this is not a discussion of just manny vs floyd.
