Hatton was the lineal champ, and Pavlik was coming off a very long lay-off and still hadn't really recovered from his humiliation against Hopkins, so he was about as weak a lineal champ as any lineal champ has ever been.

To be a good lineal champion you don't only have to beat the previous lineal champion, you also have to defend against the top contenders (unless you're moving to a higher weight class). And Martinez hasn't defended against a single genuine Middleweight yet.

Holmes was Ali's sparring partner at one point. Years later a prime holmes beat the stuffing out of an old semi-diseased ali. It's as dumb as someone saying manny should fight singsurat. Don't hate sergio because he would walk through floyd or manny at this point. Easy fights. He is big(not as big as margs) but it's his skill and speed that would be the factors in this one.
