Pavlik got outclassed by Hopkins in a weightclass 2 above his own...Hatton and Cotto were STOPPED.

Martinez doesn't wait to be told to fight the best, nor does he cherry-pick.He is fighting the fights that make sense with his legacy (top quality on the rise),while Manny is currently fighting risk-free fights (against drained and past their best,or previous severely beaten opponents) and always trying to get you sold on it being an "even-match-up" because he stubbed a toe,has a tornado in the Philippines, the height of his opponent,etc...even though most fans know that Manny chooses losers to fight and needs his "smoke and mirrors" to trick you into thinking he is fighting the best quality...

I'm still waiting for someone to name the most notable win for sergey and to tell me when his last fight at mw was. Donaire beating montiel, the way he did it, is infinitely more impressive than a win over some guy whose name no one can pronounce or even heard of before last week.

And people get caught up with undefeated records too much. It's quality over quantity. Why isn't tim bradley #1 after beating lamont peterson (27-0), abregu (29-0, at ww), and alexander (21-0) in succession? Peterson and alexander are better quality wins than dzinziruk, have more quality wins against good opposition, are undefeated, and bradley beat them at their weight.

See how easy it is to blow things out of proportion?

Good win for sergio, but come on.

      • Martinez is still very far behind against pac in lb4lb maybe we could put him now ahead with floyd but if martinez wins a belt at 168 then he could come closer to pac.

It gets old in hurry. Earthquakes and tsunamis are heading all the headlines lately. When was floyd had a KO? more than 2 years ago????

yes it really truely is. in the sense that your claiming the world is flat because you cant see it curve. fighting margarito (margacheato) who was exposed using plaster before old mosley made him his absolute biatch then took a year suspension then fought club fighter garcia to the distance then fought fought pac at a catchweight in a weight class he has never dominated? wow you make a better case for cotto at a catchweight then you do for resto. let it go dumbass.

            • Guys stop arguing over non-sense.

Truth is for the #2 p4p spot, Donaire, Martinez, and Bradley all have a good argument for themselves.

Just be happy that we have fighters finally taking there claim, because these guys aren't false hope. These guys earned there top ranking spot.

Boxing has a good thing going!

                  • I understand the logic behind the argument of 'it's what they do now' and its abundently clear Martinez has fought the better opposition over the past year.

But I can't rank Martinez above Pacqiauo nor Mayweather at this present time when I know for a solid fact they are simply a better fighter than him.

margarito when pac fought him was a shell. u can go back to my post before that fight u can go back to my posts after it. it was impressive wat pac did, but margarito was ranked nowhere, he hand no notable wins in over 2 yrs was in active for 1 yr and came into that fight looking unimpressive against a bum fighter. now im not a fan or am i overly familiar with dinzurik but before most fights i watch, if i dont kno a fighter, i look at some of their fights to get imprssions. i can tell u now, if the version of margarito that fought pac fought din, thered be no way id put money on margs.

u guys come with tardism and talking about how well know a fighter is and u ignore the important details. so no, i wont stoop to ur level. but if u wanna nuthug, have at it.
