people need to realize something...Roy Jones obviously hit a big stretch of trouble etc etc...KO losses, poor showings, etc...it obviously statted with the Tarver KO and its been downhill ever since...but in fairness to the champ, he was 35 YEARS OLD...he was 35 YEARS OLD at the timeComment

He pulled it out against Tarver the 1st time. Questionable my ass. It's just a close fight.
And the man dropped 25lbs of muscle from HW. It's a wonder he wasn't KO'd immediately from the quick drop. All the fighters who have have performed significant weight class drops have been immediately KO'd following it or just plain embarrassed recently as proof of the effect.
Roy was ****in Superman.
Here's what the resume would've looked like had he stopped after Tarver
49-1 (and the 1 is a bs DQ)
Hopkins Toney Hill Tarver Ruiz (he has 2 prime ATGs on his resume!)
More avoided than he ducked.
And he looked superhuman physically just about til the end.
Historians would've had a hard time even having him lose a fantasy fight, when he could take a decent HW punch.. and he started from fkn 154.
Jones was a freak. And he was being compared regularly to Ray Robinson at his peak.Comment

You didnt really answer the question. You're talking about ducking and fantasy fights and hypothetical *****.He pulled it out against Tarver the 1st time. Questionable my ass. It's just a close fight.

Tarver was a close fight that could've gone either way against the best fighter he'd fought in years. He retires on that and is a top 10 all time?
Um....noComment

Well.. the ducking is important because a few of these fighters that should've been names on the resume, were reluctant to fight him.. but blame gets put on Jones. Not fair. You didnt really answer the question. You're talking about ducking and fantasy fights and hypothetical *****.

He'd have an even greater legacy.
Anyway, like I said top 10, but politics would make him top 20. It's impossible to bump some of the old timers historically by the old news men.Comment

No its not important. Whats important is his skills and resume. Talent wise, he may well be top 10. Best ive seen in my lifetime. Resume? Nowhere near.Well.. the ducking is important because a few of these fighters that should've been names on the resume, were reluctant to fight him.. but blame gets put on Jones. Not fair.

bull**** it ain't. How can you get the names on the resume, when you have ducking in play? Roy was whoopin everybody AND being avoided. Even your precious Calzaghe is quoted on his instinct to avoid Jones unless he was paid huge money for it. As an unknown SMW he was trippin with that. Remember, Roy even had HBO on a find me an opponent then stretch when it seemed like he was just whoopin nobodies.
Not Jr's fault he was so Super ppl ran.Comment
