But he doesn't attack from outside or inside, he attacks at mid-range, am I missing your point?

The reason why people want Pacquiao to fail is becuz they want to give his patheticly obsessed fans a reason to hops off his **** for a while. Fortunately for Pac's obsessed fans, Duran is not of this era, so they can accuse everyone who doesn't pick Pac of being a ***** so they don't have to pretend to have boxing knowledge

      Kill yourself

The latter is the truth...and even for both fighters in Duran and Pacquiao.

They are in and out fighters...but Pacquiao seemingly the more diversified in his approaches. Duran is no less than Pacquiao fighting in different angles just that he is more proficient than Pacquiao in the inside game. He can relatively stay there.

Ruben's statement that Duran is great but Duran has the propensity to "Get In" his opponents' jabs and crosses and hit the body (and head). Pacquiao likes to get in likewise and then unleash his patented machine-gun like combinations and then get out.

Very similar styles in that respects.

how many times has manny fought at 140 again?lol

duran---i don't see manny beating any of the rat pack from the 80s---

duran's style would just offset manny too easily--he's not hard to hit at all---

duran fought more diverse styles than manny--remember that also--i don't see manny coming anywhere near beating a tommy hearns or a ray leonard---and don't even get me started on hagler--lol---he'd kill manny---

Though they have different experiences, we can't blame them for that itself....different era, different fighters. But despite their differences it is no wonder that people are trying to make this mythical fight - because they are so similar in many ways of fighting.

No one is really right or wrong on these types of discussions, all we have to do is validate your feelings based on your observations and assessments. Done.

One's seemingly "uneducated" or perhaps even "unpopular" views may not necessarily be less valid. All are just pure speculations and if they are really to put a real fight in their primes...reality could be somewhere so different as it is other than what we have all speculated.

Or can be right on the money.

They aren't very similar though, Pacquiao has no inside game, Duran does, Pacs defense is poor, Durans was very good, I don't see how they are similar fighters really, Pac can counter if he wants to but he wasn't primarily a counter-puncher like Duran.

how is he a bad style match up for pac. pac has faster feet and hands. and duran is first and foremost a fighter which plays straight into pacs style. i dont think any fighter can trade with pac unless he is a big guy like hearns.

It seems alot of people posting in this thread have seen very little or no footage of Roberto Duran.
