  • Lewis won by brutalizing Vitali's face. Vitali lost because he ate way too many flush and powerful shots. He can say that he could have kept fighting, but his face was absolutely destroyed. Realistically, he's lucky it didn't get stopped a round earlier. The score cards don't matter when you get TKO'd from absorbing too much punishment. Champions find a way to win, and Lewis found the way. Vitali had his chance, and he missed it.

    • he was 39 & half in retirement...he was off for a year partying after his tyson victory & never got the rematch he wantede with mike so his all canadian fight didnt happen with kirk johnson so he fough vitali.he dodged a bullet but did win.yes he was behind on scorecards but he got he job done via cut stoppage.he quickly retired realizing he no longer had the same desire.he was not fat but was not in peak condition either.a rematch would have been great but i doubt lewis could bring himself to the same level he once performed at & made the right choice to retire.its not like he had anything to prove other then to klit fans.anyone who has watched boxing as long as i have would see my point of view on the matter.time caught up to lennox & better to go out while the going is good.there was a solid chance he loses a rematch to vitali but in shape he would still have just as good of a chance of beating him again.

Not too old if you're fighting guys like Sosnoski, a monoplegic, and a morbidly obese mexican.

But if one "ATG" has a 6yr youth advantage over another ATG, the younger ATG should win that fight. Vitali failed.

If you want to make a point, you don't have to lie about it.
I don't have to lie about anything..part of NEVER tasting canvas is to grab & or hold your opponent so he doesn't follow up. This is a defensive skillset..everyone does it when they've been tagged hard.. Lewis did it too in the fight. No one is immune if the right punch lands.

With that being said...i wouldn't gloat about landing 2 of your best punches to a semi-blind VK who ABSOLUTELY didn't even see those punches coming & still not being able to take him down. He also got suckerpunched on a fast counter left by Corrie Sanders & knew how to weather the storm.

IN BOTH instances other lesser fighters would've hit the canvas hard. His little bro got caught with the same exact left counter & we all so the results. Vitali is used to being hit hard because of his kickboxing/martial arts background.

His CHIN has been called alltime great because of those 2 fights as other than that...he's never been remotely hurt or in danger of going down. So even thoughthe dude rarely gets hit clean..peeps know that if he does..he can take it. That's a sign of a great beard...better than Lennox whos' been wobbled more than a handful of times in his career.

After 7 rds...the fight goes to the scorecards based on the boxing rules when a fight is stopped on cuts. I've been stating this throughout the thread if you've been paying attention.

If it's caused by a legal punch, as was the case in the Lewis Klitschko fight, then the fighter who caused the cut is automatically awarded a TKO if the other fighter can't continue, at any stage in the fight.
Where are you getting this from? It;'s bewen stated on several boxing sites that after 7 rds..the fight goes to the scorecards as more than half the bout is completed by then.

Yes and you've made yourself look an idiot. The fight goes to the cards if the cut is caused by an accidental headbutt after (at least) 4 completed rounds.

The cut was caused by a punch from Lennox, so he wins by TKO, no matter when the fight was stopped.

Do you think the bolded above might have been a clue as to why the fight was stopped when it was? Or do you persist in your belief that the cut was a trifling little graze that wasn't affecting the fight one jot?

I know the truth hurts, but you just got to be a man and deal with it. The Klitschko's don't have the right color to be great. Live with it.
Perhaps you'd like to expand on or explain this little gem?:WTF??:
