Like i said..i've heard it being mentioned plenty of times on boxing sites. Can you prove your statement as factual? I'll admit....i'm NOT 100% sure but have heard this being applied to this fight.

Watch any fight on HBO and listen to Harold Ledermann go over the rules before every bout

Funny.......his rules also state that ONLY the ref can stop the fight.lol

Only mention s after 4 rds..if it's accidental..goes to the scorecards.. Doesn't state whatsoever that if a doctor stops the fight in between rds..you don't go to the scorecards after 7 rds..so that disproves nothing but i did get a chuckle of ONLY the ref being able to stop the fight..because if that would've happened ..they'd still be fighting now.

Sigh....the referee stopped the fight on advice from the doctor.

Yes, the referee is the only one who can officially stop the fight, but that doesn't stop him from taking advice from a ringside doctor or a fighter's corner in making that decision. Once more, where the hell do you get this seven rounds stuff from? Post a link, not just "what I heard on some internet forums."

Here's a summary of the fight from www.klitschko.com

            Note this line in particular:

Leading on points after six rounds, the referee stopped the fight during rounds six and seven on advice of the doctor.

It's easy for people to say they should've let the fight go on. But Vitali doesn't have one punch knockout power, he couldn't see much out of that eye, and he most likely would've been permanently blinded had he fought 6 more rounds of that fight, especially trying to slug it out with the harder hitting Lewis the way he was.

Guys .... Vitali Klitschko is one of 4 heavies that won the heavyweight belt 3 times. Holyfield.. ALI & Lewis are the others. What these fighters have in common is that they're all top 10 heavies of alltime & Vitali IS no exception to that rule. Vitali is the only fighter in boxing history that took nearly 4 years off..retired with a belt & retrieved it without a fight in between. How MANY things does Vitali Klitschko have to be the sole owner of before we realize he's the most dominant 200 lb plus fighter of alltime. Best KO ratio <<< check.. best scorecards ratio<<< check... practically undefeated<<< check... NEVER been knocked down... one of 3 fighters not to do so<<
Now i ask is this all a coincidence??? 6ft 7 250 lbs of dominance<<< check

Let's not forget the best slugging start in heavyweight history... 27-0 27 ko's... least amount of rds fought to win a belt. Tyson might be the youngest but he had more experience in the ring because his fights lasted longer than Vitali's.
