This was not stopped because Vitali was ready to be KOed and the ref stopped it. This was stopped because his eye looked really bad.

You are talking about HW throwing punches and Lennox can throw them. If he were to hit Vitali in that eye again with some crazy shot, it would be possible that you would never have seen Vitali fight again.

Let's keep it real. The stoppage was NOT controversial.

Like i said...he already hit him with the kitchen sink & Vitali kept coming.... 3 more minutes of similar action would not have made the cut any worse as it was being tended to in between rds. Ofcourse another 6 rds would be out of the question but Vitali earned the right to fight for 3 more minutes. The guy fought his heart out like nobody's business..laying it all on the line..he deserved an opportunity to win the fight... it's almost like he's 3 more minutes away from victory... has already fought in the same state for a couple of rds. If they didn't want him fighting with the cut that bad they should not have allowed the last 2 rds...you don't snatch his opportunity to win the fight when he's that close & comfortably & clearly ahead on all scorecards. His 2 losses,,, he needed 1 more rd against Lewis & 3 more rds against Byrd. ALL he had to do was hug his way to those victories but wasn't afforded the opportunity..once because he made the decision & another when someone else made the decision for him.

Look man , we all got caught up in the excitement of this fight. That still doesn't change the fact that Klits eye was hanging out.

Vitali couldn't see for himself. It was bad. Really bad.

You said, he got 2 chances (rounds). He didn't finish off Lennox therefore he lost. I think you are being subjective about that cut because there was nothing controversial about that stoppage.

Could it have gone 1 more round? Perhaps
Could Vitali have lost his eye in that next round? Perhaps

The doctor was thinking about the eye. It was really bad.

This was Vitali's inexperience at play. He EXPECTED A lackadasical Lennox to come out for the third & yes Steward did instruct for Lennox to make it a dogfight because Steward knew Lennox was about to get knockedout if he kept fighting in the same manner. With that being said.... the punch was not lucky at all..where it landed & how it cut Vitali was pure luck..i'm sure LENNOX didn't throw it expecting to cut Vitali...he threw it to hurt him..he'd be one hell of a forecaster if he just said this punch will cut VITALI... tHE punch was a quality one thaT didn't hurt Vitali whatsoever... it JUST created a cut & was,,

It was MORE VK being caught off guard..with that being said.. Vitali kept on fighting..kept on outlanding & throwing more punches than Lewis in every rd including the 6th WHEN he was holding onto Lennox after caught him with a punch from the blindside on the side of the head with 10 seconds to go.. No shame in that..esp when that punch was not in his lone of vision.. He kept taking the combos Lennox was throwing until the end. Lennox expended alot of energy to try to take him out at the end of the fight & that's why he was exhausted,,he couldn;t do it & it was anyone;s fight in the 7th.. they were both equally finished with LENNOX having the advantage of clear vision.. Vitali WAS not going to be Knocked out or denied in that fight..unfortunately the dr,, didn;t let it go one more round as Vitali WAS 3 minutes away from a clearcut decision after the 7th rd..

They could've repeated any one of the 6 rds they fought in the 7th & It would've been Vitali with his hands raised. Victory snatched from Vitali BECAUSE HE WASN'T allowed to continue for 3 more minutes & you guys want to tell me Lennox won fair & square. What kind of a VICTORY is it when you would've clearly lost if the fight was allowed to play out for 3 more minutes. 1 rd is what separated a Vitali WIN FROM A LENNOX win & the cut was the same for the last 2 rds. Vitali should've been afforded that chance.... if you wanted to stop it..stop it as a legit tko WHILE they're fighting in the 7th iF VITALI IS receiving too much punishment & is defenseless..... that's the way it went down guys as i see it.
Good post, unlike other Klitschko fans youve actually seen the fight.

Lennox badly hurt Vitali in the 6th round and had Vitali out on his feet. 3rd punch in this gif...

Lennox's accuracy and activity was INCREASING from rounds 1 through 6 while Vitali was getting more sluggish. Now lets put it all in perspective...

Did anyone ask 38 yr old Louis to rematch Marciano?

Did anyone ask 38 yr old ALi to rematch Holmes?

Did anyone ask 38 yr old Willard to rematch Dempsey?

No, No, and No! But Lennox was one of a kind... Lennox still had his crown, his health, and hardly a mark on his face...His opponent looked like a used tampon. The fact that the public thought Lennox was prime when he did that is really a compliment in itself.

Lol...at you praising my post & then adding your own fallacies to hit.. You had me going there...i was about to say thank you son. So he hit him with a shot on the back of the head while they were in a clinch with 10 seconds to go. Vitali just showed how strong he was by dragging Lennox & then taking his final punches as if they were being swatted at hi. You're right about one thing.. I did watch the fight & Vitali WAS winning most of that last rd. Lennox landed his 2 best punches on a semi blind Vk & still couldn't take him down. Vitali is a dude who refuses & or is almost embarassed to taste canvas,,, any other fighter being caught with the punches LeWIS landed & The ones Sanders landed on him would've went down. He has survival insticts when dazed & everyone knows it was Lennox that was more hurt in the fight than Vitali.. Lewis WAS holding on way more than Vitali in the fight..kapish!

I just watched the fight too & what I SAW in the final 30 SECONDS WAS A VK who was muscling & bullying Lennox to the ropes & while Lennox was holding onto him in a clinch..he caught VK right on the side of the head..a blind shot that dazed him... funny out of all the punches Lewis landed it was the one that he threw with 10 seconds remaining that momentarily stunned him..it's because it was to the side of the head & it was more exhaustion than anything else. I saw a Lewis that was getting free shots on Vitali in the last 5 seconds & couldn't do a thing to him..even trying to hit him after the bell with a flailing left that missed & in one full swoop plooped down on his stool.... the English broadcast..you could overhear MANNY... telling Lewis....you got to take him out in the next rd.... hilarious... MANNY even stated earlier in the bout that if LEWIS EVER hit Klitschko with the left he'd go down..AGAIN HILARIOUS... manny underestimating Vitali lol!

Not a fallacy. Go check the punch Lennox lands at 2:26 of round 6, and keep an eye on Vitali for the remainder of the round. He never really recovers from it. And starts holding holding and holding...

Ive watched the fight many times and the thing I notice is how good Vitali is at using posture. He erects his posture immediately after he gets hit to make it seem like he's not hurt but really he is in dreadful agony. When he thinks no one is watching he is seen sucking wind and has a look of despair on his face. All the press photos show this and its really hilarious....Lennox doesnt give a s#t how sloppy he looks in the ring, he just fights.

If Vitali would protect his face, like he protects his posture he mightve had a chance.

If Vitali concentrated on throwing QUALITY punches instead of mindless quantity he couldve had an even better chance.

                    OLD Lennox > Prime Vitali
