But he has a good future ahead of him, give him a guy thats unpredictable hell have trouble.
Still, Martinez would've beaten Pavlik after Taylor. I would bet my life on it. Martinez is a southpaw that moves away from Pavlik's right hand. As a matter of fact, it would've been a worse beating that night if Martinez fought hims after Pavlik-Taylor 2 because he'd have kept coming.

Jermain Taylor was never really a GREAT fighter, so saying Pavlik was ruined by Hopkins is a bit false.

I like your point but Williams was so overrated by these forums. Williams is a technical amateur if there ever was one.

Never the less, Sergio Martinez is the #1 MW rightfully so.

BTW, TS and others: comparing MW athleticsm to a smaller guy is totally bogus. I can't believe someone said Sergio is not athletic, what loons in here!

Thats true but the blood was not getting in his eyes like it was in the 9th. And don't forget that was the alcoholic version of Pavlik. Sergio is very good but I think he may be overrated now.

Keep in mind Martinez was in there with top fighters, he wasn't in there against mediocre competition. I thought Martinez looked great and he deserves all the praise he's getting. You're entitled to your opinion about Sergio not being that good, but maybe he'll make you a fan in the future.

Wasn't the first cut in the 9th round under Pavlik's eye though? He could still see.

Martinez might fight Dzinziruk next, Dzinziruk is very intelligent accurate boxer, southpaw and 2 inches taller than Sergio. Very tough fight lets see how he deals with him. Sergio is fighting real top competition for the last two years. If he beats Dzinziruk with ease, he beats Floyd and Manny, actually Pac is easy fight for Sergio.

I don't know there was a lot of blood lol. I remember the cut man putting the towel on Pavliks head and the whole towel turning red.

Martinez is a good fighter, but I do see your point..

Honestly, Martinez gets hit ALOT. Not all of the punches are flush, some do more damage than others, but I noticed in both the Pavlik fight and the first Williams fight that Martinez can be touched. His offense (kinda like Paul Williams) is his defense. Martinez ball-lickers dont wanna admit that, but Kelly Pavlik touched Martinez more than I thought he would.
