    I think Mayweather/Martinez at 154 is a tossup.
    You're silly.

Mayweather picks him apart. All night.

Think so? I dunno, I haven't watched that one since a few weeks after it aired. I though that Martinez took the middle rounds off because he was afraid of gassing out like he did against Williams.

thats exactly what happened ...he knew he was ahead by a huge margin, thats why he took it easy in some of the rounds......unlike in the first williams fight where he gave out the late rounds while it was close, thus costing him the fight....

          Yes i think so too

I have not seen anything from him that would lead me to believe that he would even give Floyd problems let alone beat him

I think Floyd outboxes him pretty decisively especially with that straight right left hook combination that he loves to throw against southpaws. Martinez would look bad against a good boxer defiantly one the caliber of Floyd.

He beats any 154 or 160 fighter around, i'd say he definitely is all that.
              Good post.

Well, I'm not trying to be one of those guys, but Floyd has already passed up a couple opportunities to fight him and prove it. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

He's not perfect, but lets not get carried away. There's a lot of ifs here, if he wouldn't have cut pavlik, if he wouldn't have knocked Paul Williams out. The cuts didn't appear out of nowhere, Paul Williams didn't just faint in the 2nd round.

did he? i thought he won the last 3 rounds. he landed the better punches by far. the official judges were on crack obviously. one judge gave williams 10 rounds, sergio 1 and 1 even? let me guess he's a calzaghe fan? and the other 2 gave williams the first round? what the hell? martinez knocked williams down heavily and landed a couple other bombs while williams only scored that lil knockdown. martinez clearly won that round.

i honestly can't believe how ****** the majority of judges are. when people say this was a close fight do they mean martinez was close to knocking williams head off?

Agreed - I also think Pavlik's cut really really helped Martinez. Granted, he caused it.
