He is good but its still a little hard to judge him. Pavlik may have not been 100% and was winning the fight up until he was cut in the 9th. He did not show himself to be much better then Willimas in the first fight although I thought he did edge Willimas out. He knocks Willimas out so he has some power which is good but if not for the ko would likely have been another close fight. He outclassed Cintron which is good. Most boxers have fights like this though. He still has won his last 4 fights in my mind.

And just look at what happened to Prince Naseem once Manny Steward tried to turn him into a textbook boxer, he was never the same.

He beats any 154 or 160 fighter around, i'd say he definitely is all that.
Like I said, not having a traditional boxing skills when athleticism fades will bite you in the ass, Ask Roy Jones.

Lacks alot of traditional boxing techniques that will come and bite him in the ass. Still a fan though.
thats his style and thats what makes him so tricky. Thats what sets him apart from any one and wins him fights. And look what happened when he actually set is feet againts williams.

Martinez is already in his mid-30s and is only going to fight for two more years.

He doesn't need to change a thing.

Well, Cintron is a solid boxer who took apart Angulo and was kicking William's ass until he went crazy. Sergio embarrassed him.

                I think Mayweather/Martinez at 154 is a tossup.

                    True way too true.

I'm a big fan of Martinez but in the Pavlik fight he looked real sloppy. If it wasn't for the cuts I think Pavlik could have edged him out. I'd wish Sergio fought more proper, instead of hands down and chin up, because you can't get lucky everytime and i'd hate to see one of my favorite boxers knocked out like Roy Jones because of it.

If Pavlik had Martinez confused when he adjusted...............
