After Watching Martinez vs Pavlik and Williams Sergio Isnt All That

His punches are sloppy and lazy. He trys to move with slickness he dosent have. He walks forward with his combinations instead of sitting on them or using his legs. He comes in head first and reaches with his punches. Honestly he fights like a really athletic amateur fighter. You can easily tell he started boxing in his twenties. Lacks alot of traditional boxing techniques that will come and bite him in the ass. Still a fan though.

If this is the dumbest thread ever you must not have seen many threads on BScene.

Anyway what do you disagree with. I take it you've never actually boxed.

Martinez Vs Pavlik was a close fight and the cut changed the fight, if Pavlik hadn't got cut i think he would have gone on to win

Very true. Kelly Pavlik is a no head movement chin first fighter, and P-Will fights like his 5'9. Sergio got hit plenty of times in both of his last fights.

Sergio is a beast but i see where your coming from to an extent.

In the mid rounds of the Pavlik fight i noticed Pavlik made some good adjustments and Sergio seemed a little confused to me for a breif period in the middle rounds, i wasn't expecting that. However, he did put a beating on them when all said and done.

Yea he got in that ass with the skills he does posses, im not trying to attack him but he is not a well polished boxer yet.

You don't have to have sound fundamentals if you have a style that works. Ask Roy Jones Jr.

And just look at what happened to Prince Naseem once Manny Steward tried to turn him into a textbook boxer, he was never the same.

He beats any 154 or 160 fighter around, i'd say he definitely is all that.
