Considering Maidana had hold of Khan and was punching the back of his head, I'd say it was a warranted interference.

thats nice and all, but if that rabbit punch would have koed khan, whos fault would it have been??? i hope u dont say maidana...

we see this all the time...fighters turn their back. when its a fighter u like, its not their fault, when its a fighter u dont like (dirrell) then hes not protecting himself. when dirrell does it its his fault. when other fighters like mayweather do it, its their fault. it was khan's fault, even if he was out on his feet.

It probably would've been a no contest in all honesty, because it was a punch behind that back of the head which caused the KO.

One of the worst things you can do is turn away from your opponent, look at what Hagler did when Hearns turned away from just a moment. I have my doubts that Khan turned away on purpose and I'm sure Maidana didn't rabbit punch on purpose.

i have seen several KO's where opponents straight up turned around and got KOed by a hook from behind. None of them were ruled NC.

No punch landed on the back of the head. the whiffing punch he threw as Amir turned his head was just a whiffing shot. it wasn't solid. It's not Maidana's fault if u turn ur ****ing head. r u that dense?



Now Maidana's follow up hook is perfectly legal as demonstrated in the David Tua video. Maidana could've followed up with a barrage of wide hooks to the side of Amir's face and ended the fight as a defenceless Amir was completetly turned around. They would've been perfectly legal.


Cortez wasn't having that obviously.
