Oscar's stardom was on par with Michael Jordan, Ronaldinho and Zidane. Neither Floyd or Manny were huge until they fought DLH. And even then neither one is close to being a top 5 athlete in terms of draw.

No, he helped more than some. Oscar biggest PPV was 1.4 against Tito...Was that all Oscar too? Did Tito not helped? really?

And, Oscar-Floyd did a million more than what Oscar-Tito did. So yes he helped more than just some.

And to further reiterate: I'm as big of a Floyd supporter as you'll find. I live really close to MI, and am a big supporter of Detroit/Michigan's boxing scene. But even I won't deny this much............Oscar just needed the right role of a villian, and a big victory. And he got both. He beat Mayorga on PPV in stunning fashion. (For a paper 154lbs title.) And he got Floyd right afterward. That's why I laugh when people say Floyd ducked Cotto/Margarito. Why would he fight those two fighters (Arum fighters) when he HATES their promoter (Arum). First of all. And on top of that, he made MILLIONS more for fighting Oscar. It was win/win all the way around for Floyd. He won a 154lbs title (NO CATCH WEIGHT MIGHT I ADD) and made millions of dollars more in the process. It was a brilliant, calculated move on Floyd's part, that NOBODY as a human being can blame him for.

I'm bringing up the fact, that Oscar didn't have todays marketing tools and still outsold both of them, combined, even in an era when the "black box" was widely available along with cards to get free PPVs on cable and satellite tv. Everyone knew someone who had a card writer.

I don't care what you know, the fact is people have internet more so than they had the black box and a card writer at the time. So that argument is moot.

Now Pac and Floyd are bigger than Oscar ever was.

Oscar never sold a fight with over 1 million PPVs for 3 years in a row. Only Pac and Tyson have done that. And Pac can easily do another 2-3 years. When its all said and done Pacquiao will be the biggest cash cow of all time.

The thing is there are amny factors to consider- the time the fight happened, the PPV price, the amount spent to advertise the fight and many others and it is difficult to develop a working formula that will satisfy everybody but let's make things simple, what is the average PPV per fight and I still think, oscar gets the highest number.

Will Floyd and Pac sell more than 1 million ppv if they did not fight Oscar? My opinion, no.
