Shane was a huge underdog in that fight. He stood there with Shane because, like everyone else, he thought Shane was just a blown up lightweight.

And, Oscar pick Shane to fight cuz Shane was a LW who jumped 2 divisions. He saw Shane as the smaller guy and thought it was going to be an easy win.

Anyways. like I said Shane is a sure fire first ballot HOF'er. Hell both Shane and Oscar are first ballot HOF'ers that can't even be debated. However, neither is an ATG.
I can agree with that..But you would not put Shane or Hoya in a top 100 ATG list??

There were some who thought Shane could win cause of his speed and punching power..But yes most were picking Hoya which put even more pressure on the Golden Boy...I just don't think you can take anything from Mosley or Hoya they both fought alot of fights that were dangerous and always tried to fight the best out there I respect for both of these Warriors...

Damn LOL...I would have to disagree with you here...I would have Hoya and Mosley around the same spot in the early 90's or late 80's of my top 100 list..But to each it's own...

Mosley is GREAT...against fighters that fight coming forward, for years I have told people that Mosley has LIMITED BOXING SKILLS and he is a HEAD HUNTER

yes he is still a legend, yes a Hall Of Famer but he weakness has ALWAYS been against Boxers: the late Vernon Forrest TWICE, Winky Wright TWICE, Cotto (not a PURE BOXER but has some pretty good boxing skills), Mayweather and now Mora, you can stay outside and Jab the hell out of Mosley all night and he would run into those jabs ALL NIGHT trying to land a big punch

Punching power? He hit Wilfredo Rivera with everything but the ref before putting him away. I take nothing away from Shane. At all. But the only reason why Oscar took that fight was because he didn't want to move up to 154 (there was no one left at 147) and he thought he could walk through Shane (psyche).

Nah too many great fighters throughout history for them to be considered top 100 in my book. But, you right to each it's own.

I must say this..TBH I don't think Cotto would have stood a chance with the younger Mosley..Forest not only was a good boxer but he was a big boxer..Same for Wright..May did his thing and Mora was on the run for the full 12 rds...Shane has always had trouble with boxers even when he was fighting in the LW div he had troubles with Leija cause of movement and his jab,Leija was a decent fighter with skill.. But Mosley was and still is a will fighter,a fighter who fights off shear determination..When he was younger he could do this better now he has fallen off..The Mora fight was nothing more then Mosley showing his age..A younger Mosley kills Mora dead..

But he did get him out of there..The only WW every to do so too..You just can't beat Shane standing in front of him..I really want Mosley to retire he look flat sat and Mora had nothing to do with it...
