Thanks for your reply. Which changes NOTHING. Are you out of excuses as to why Manny would fight Margarito over a Williams? Like I said, Cotto or Chavez Jr is next. And a guy named Top Rank will surely defend it
Why would Manny chose Williams over Margarito? Please make a counter arguement. Keep in mind they still have to keep a possible fight with Mayweather alive.

pac-williams at 147 will only be legit if pac loses. if he wins, it's only because williams is weight drained.
Good point. It's better to catch a guy whose had one fight in 15 months in a new division and make the fight a catchweight.

Same reason he'd fight Martinez - because he's a better fighter. But we know paper titles are more important.

Man you act like I'm against facing Williams or Martinez all together. I have said several times that I would love to see both of those fights, but I have no issues with Manny picking up an 8th title first, then taking those fights afterwards. Now if he ducks them all together....then you might have a point. U

Manny has earned to right to go for an 8th title, so whats the problem with him doing that first?

If him winning a vacant, catchweight paper title is more important than beating a better opponent then by all means, support it.

But but but but it will be more exciting than if he were to face Martinez or P-Will.

That's right it will! Margarito has looked so good lately, no way Manny could turn down the fight!

I don't like the catchweight at all...hence the point of this thread. If Manny beats a guy like Angulo, Martinez etc at 154 (defending his belt) then there isn't a whole lot people can say about him being a legit champ at 154.

Again non of those fights were for a title and there are no legit champs at 154. So winning a title and defending it against a top guy there is the next best thing.

What you said is true.....If Manny dominates him, the excuses will be that Williams was weight drained and how he fought 5 outta his last 6 (can't remember) at MW so why didn't Pacquiao fight him there. I agree with you 100% bro.
for me i really believe that pac's max weight is 147. if he beats marg at 150 and he still can't force floyd to fight him then he should just stay at 147 and fight the next best fight available. fighting guys at 154 would just fuel the hate of peds gossipers. it's surprising though that the biggest peds rumor-mongerer in this forum is pushing for a pac-martinez or pac-williams fights.

A lot of pacquiao fans agree, which is why Martinez is winning this poll as far as being a next opponent for Manny.

Did you vote for Martinez? I haven't yet because I want to see who is voting for who.
