I know you are just trying to be funny, but realistically Pacquiao doesn't want to face Cotto as I'm sure he sees it as a waste of time.

I do think Chavez will be a legit opponent, but I see Arum building that fight up as it could do good numbers if Chavez gets some good wins under his belt (Cotto etc).
Martinez not having a paper title should be a moot point anyway. But then again, some fans eat that **** up.

Cotto is a waste of time? Agreed. So is Margarito.

Chavez is a legit opponent? Based on what?

Yes and I already touched on why.

Right now Mayweather vs Pacquiao is still on life support for a spring 11 showdown. If Manny doesn't do good PPV numbers then the chances of Floyd agreeing to 50 or even a 55 split go completely out the window. Floyd will use this to his full advantage (something I don't blame him for doing) and Manny will not go for it....killing this fight once and for all.

Margarito gives Pacquiao the best shot at doing good PPV numbers due to the Mexican fan base and Jerry Jones/Cowboys helping promote this bout. I mean if you can't see that, then I really don't know what to tell you.

If Pacquiao was willing to fight Floyd coming off PPV #s of 700k against Clottey than this whole post makes no ****ing sense. Christ, think a little before you slob.

Martinez fight can happen, it's just Manny wants that eight title. 154 is a mess as far a legit champs and has been so for a while. I think Manny gets the belt, then goes for the hardest fight available next. If Martinez beats Williams decisively and the demand is high enough...then I can see Pacquiao biting on this.

As far as Chavez, not a legit opponent now, but he can be if he picks up some good wins. Lets say he beats Cotto, then goes out and beats someone like Dzinziruk, Pavlik, Pirog or Angulo (I highly doubt). His buzz will be pretty big and I'm sure people would consider Chavez as a legit fighter/opponent for Manny. Chavez is being built up right now, so we will have to play the wait and see game....concerning whether he is legit or not.

Like I said, NO legitimate reason for the fight not happening other than notching a vacant paper title under his belt.

Ahh, I get it. So Chavez ISN'T a legit opponent. Call me when he is.

Pac has no business being at 154, I don't want him fighting their at all. He really had no business fighting at 147 before but somehow managed it. For someone like mosley or floyd, it is ok since they are bigger and can fit in 154 better

but berto or williams at 147 max for pac

Paul Williams is next but it's going to be at 139.6547 and he has to fight on his knees.

Your flaming is blinding you from thinking logically.

700k was decent...but the argument could be made that it was a fight took or short notice when no big name opponents (that could bring in PPV numbers) were available. Also there was not time to promote this so Team Pacquiao could and did use this as a reason for the PPV numbers doing less than a million

This time around there really is no excuse. They will have a 24-7, 2-3 months to promote this, and a wider pool of available opponents. Margarito gives them the best shot at doing good numbers, and there really is no point of arguing this.

If they do similar numbers again, then Floyd vs Manny will not happen. Fighting Williams wont do good numbers as he only has no ceilings and a few other fans on the internet...lol.

Again 700k the first time was somewhat justifiable, but to do it back to back kills any argument Top Rank can make in order to get Manny a 45 and possible a 50-50 split with Floyd.

Ok, let me repeat. If Manny Pacquiao was "willing" to negotiate a fight with Floyd Mayweather coming off 700k buys against Joshua Clottey then they PPV number excuse for a Williams fight not happening is pure horse****.
