Spinks win for Tyson cant be that great, because one criticism for Tyson is that he didnt beat any great heavyweights when they compare him to Ali.
So people obviously dont in hindsight give Tyson too much credit for that win, although at the time, it made Tyson as a heavyweight seem invicible.

Larry Holmes is an ATG HW, and Michael Spinks is an ATG fighter period.

He is no Ali, but no one is. Compare to Ali Tyson didn't fight as many ATG's as Ali did. But, Tyson did fight great fighters. and beat a couple and lost to a couple great fighters as well. lost to one journeyman in his prime and to a couple journeyman when he was washed up.

I have to agree with Burner. With this comment it is obvious that you were not really following boxing during a prime Tyson era. I didn't either, I was too young but I have done my homework on the situation you should too.

He was the only person to ever beat Spinks, this is Spinks we're talking about here ffs a top 3 LHW who dominated in one of the strongest LHW eras, left undefeated then moved up weight successfully to become "Thee man" as Burner said, if you're going to say it's not that great a win for Tyson then in retrospect Pacs wins mean nothing at all.

He was not strip, Spinks was the lineal champ and the lineal title was on the line. Tyson became lineal champ when he won.

You can only lose your lineal title in the ring or by retirement.

Just cuz he didn't have an alphabet soup belt doesn't mean he wasn't lineal champ. He got stripped by the IBF cuz he didn't want to enter Don King's HW tournament. However, he was still the lineal champ. Your lineage doesn't get stripped. You lose it in the ring or when you retire or move up in weight.

You are confusing being undisputed with being Lineal Champ.

Tyson. Nobody got seriously hurt by Mike and survived the round at his peak. Pac is an ok finisher, but he's let a few hurt fighters slip by.
