The only hall of famers Tyson fought beat his ass.
    Larry Holmes and Michael Spinks.

Pacquiaos resume is far superior but you are still wrong, those are 2 Hofers (possibly ATG's) that Tyson destroyed.

I know what you are talking about but main thing is that TYSON was number 1 heavyweight before SPINKS fight and thats only important!

Weight matters because if Tyson beats a welterweight he shouldn't get credit for it. Period.

Manny moving around in weight is a testament to his greatness because he's moving UP in weight.

Spinks HOF status is from his career at lower weights. He came to fight Tyson at a naturally higher weight class. So Tyson's win diminishes because of this simple fact. Do you get it?

          Okay I hope you do.

Now if we are going to count Larry Holmes.... we better throw in Oscar De La Hoya for Manny Pacquiao as well right?

Manny's record against HOFer > Tyson

          Sorry son. Nice try.
In the end, if you really want to get down to it, Pac fights with a handicap sign on his back. Tyson doesn't.

          What does that mean?

Tyson was HW, he fought in the Men's division. No "catch-weights" no "he is to tall." excuses allowed. You fight.

          Pac, the boys division.

Tyson would kill Pac in a fight so Pac and his boys made up divisions to separate the Lions from the cubs.

Now that is the ultimate truth.

And yes, it is allowed for discussion because when boxing was originally fought, there was only one division...and for a reason. Think about why.

              #1 by who? The Ring?

Spinks was the lineal champ. He never lost none of his title in the ring.

Tyson was the most popular the most recognizable. But, Spinks was the champ of the division. You have to beat the champ to be the champ and nobody beat him until Tyson.

That's true. But that's also because Spinks ran away from Tyson until he was backed into a corner to get the fight signed. Spinks even admitted later it was the one mistake he made...Fighting Tyson.
