regarding the KO, i'm only asking which version of Hatton was better the undefeated one at 147 or the one at 140 after he'd been KO'd for the 1st time in his career?

I'm thinking the 1st one, although coming up in weight negates it somewhat.
great fighters can look bad once in a while. pac looked bad against jmm. floyd looked bad in the first castillo fight. frazier looked bad against foreman, foreman looked bad against ali, and so on. so whats new?

hatton last fight before pac was a shutout and TKO of paulie, a pure boxer just like floyd right, so how in the hell could you call him shot and past prime?

That fight was an easy fight for Floyd, it was not even close to being a war, a real Top contender will always give a war to the champion. EXEMPLES of top contender in the history of Boxing : Duran who fought Leonard, Hearns, Leonard himself against Benitez, please stop defending a fighter who refuse to fight in wars.
You refused to answer my initial question. real Top contender will always give a war to the champion. Not alwyas. Tyson spinks, ali foreman, hearns cuevas, etc etc. Sometimes, a guy isn't in wars because he is better than the competition, ie Ricardo Lopez.

And, you do know srl fought duran, who moved up, instead of aaron pryor right?

Collazo was before floyd then You incorrectly inferred that from my post. I didn't say he was shot past prime. I asked which one was better?

considering the circumstances that time, dlh was predicted to steamroll over pac. pac had to move up 2 divisions to oscar coming down 1. dlh surely was a better competition than any 135 or 140 that time. everthing you say now is in hindsight.

same goes for hatton. he was great w/ paulie right before pac, and all thats being said about hatton is in hindsight.

i could agree w/ ddiaz, but that was pac's first 135 fight, he was testing the waters. but christ, how could you criticize him for this when he's fought the best everytime he moved up? his first at 126 was MAB followed immediately by JMM. his first at 130 was the great El Terible.

you guys really just wanted to punch holes in his career. sure you can as w/ anybody's, but it's not as many holes as you can find in floyd's.

Twako: there is no way ODH was the best comp then. I know he was supposed to beat pac, but that doesn't make him the best comp. That is not hindsight. Lets be fair.Your point about paulie is fair.

[B]his first at 126 was MAB followed immediately by JMM. his first at 130 was the great El Terible.[/B ]Same as floyd with castillo and corrales. Believe me I'm not punching any holes in pac's resume. I'm asking you to use the same criteria to evaluate both.

Its the same thing now. Marg and Cotto are good fighters that yield the most money. Either guy is not as tough as Bradley of Williams right now.

Bottom line Manny is likely to handle business just like floyd. If he does, will you criticize him the same way? Please answer this for me.

dude if me and you were making $20 mila fight we'd be too. there are businesses in this country that employ 20 people and don't generate $20 mil a year much less 1 fight.

if by business you mean getting the biggest fights out there then yes you could say that. but the reason behind is the big difference. pac has been very vocal about having only 1 or 2 or 3 more fights. add to that he's a congressman now so he'd really be retiring soon. but floyd's doing this kind of business way way back. even before he retired the first time.

See what I mean. You have no problem making excuses for pac. Cmon Pac is no better.
