considering margarito may not even be a mainstream ppv fight for pacquiao, it probably won't do as good as the clottey fight.

i think a PW fight, on HBO PPV would do AT LEAST similar numbers to what clottey did.

what this comes down to, is ARUM keeping fights "in house" so that he can benefit the most. anybody arguing pacquiao makes more money from a cotto rematch or margarito fight, than a PW fight, is dead wrong.

pacquiao has a guarantee, which means he'll get paid regardless of how well the fight sells.

but if you ask me, pacquiao-PW will do just as well as pacquiao-cotto II, or pacquiao-margarito.....so this boils down to ARUM.

They will be fighting for a vacant belt though, which as much as a farce as that may be it's a factor without a doubt.

            Pacquiao is worse

From both Premadonas, Pacquiao is already worse. The only reason why they were pushing the fight quck was because they were looking for another advantage to brag later if they win.
They wanted Floyd without his corner... shame on them.

The point of the thread, and you are actually agreeing with it, is that when floyd was not fighting and manny was the undisputed top draw, he chose to fight those who provided him the most money, not the best challenge. Hatton (ko'd by floyd looked horrible in tune up) and ODh (147) were not the best competition.

If floyd leaves again, will manny do this again, or, as you and other pac fans say, fight the best competition? Which does manny choose?
i wasnt agreeing to anything. pac's having a hard time at 135 so he moved up and guess who's the man there, hatton. hatton looked horrible against paulie? lol he ****d paulie, who's a skilled boxer.

or did you mean if a fighter gets KO'd he's done, like what happened to hatton? so then pac's been fighting past his prime already since 10yrs ago when he got KO'd twice lol. or when he suffered a war w/ EM. that whole fight was more brutal than the one punch KO of hatton.

You mean hatton was the man at 140. Hatton looked bad against was it callozo?
regarding the KO, i'm only asking which version of Hatton was better the undefeated one at 147 or the one at 140 after he'd been KO'd for the 1st time in his career?

I'm thinking the 1st one, although coming up in weight negates it somewhat.

You said Martinez an Williams don't have a belt. My point is marg doesn't have 1 either. Why not fight Paul for the vacant belt.

I'm still don't understand how the he'll they stripped Martinez that fast of the belt. **** PAC been champ for almost 2 years without defending it. I wouldn't put it pass Bob to do. Some under handed ****.

why do you keep sayin brethren? I'm just me, man. I just represent my views on here.

The resume point is not valid to me in that when you are up and coming you will seek out fights that pay the most. Generally, this is against the toughest competition. Manny wasn't seeking tough competition as much as he was fighting guys multiple times to earn the only big paydays available at the smaller weights, IMO.
I don't know about that man, those guys you're talking about are hall of famers, all time greats and legends though. With exception to the Berrara rematch all those fights were legit rematches (lost first fight to Morales, second was rematch third was rubber match & Marquez).

To a large extent, I think because floyd wins usually by a large margin, his resume is judged after the fact. Case in point, manny people argue undefeated hatton at 147 was worse then Hatton who went back down to 140 for Manny. How is that?
Not sure I would argue that but I think clearly the case people make is that hatton didn't have much business at 147 and was a natural 140 pounder. He was always a bit overrated to me though regardless the weight.

Based on his last 2 fights, I don't think you can say this is the same margarito. Again, you give your honest reasons and I respect that. But I just don't see how its ok for manny to make money yet floyd had to "do what's best for boxing"?
A lot of that had to with the reputation floyd got as a cherry picker or a ducker of the best opponents, regardless if it was warranted or not that's the reputation he got for himself over the years. His last fight was obviously a spectacular win over Mosley, old or not, and I think that should be viewed as him taking a challenge. So maybe it is a bit unfair to some extent but I think most people are looking at resumes over the past several years, not just the most recent fights.
