Jones could of fought Julian Jackson between 1989 and 1993, the former WBA 154 champ Jackson was the WBC 160 champ and he'd only ever lost one fight in his long career and that was a premature stoppage against Mike McCallum in a fight that he was winning. If Jackson can catch Herol 'Bomber' Graham with his right hand, then he can certainly catch Roy Jones with it.

Jones could of fought Gerald McClellan between 1989 and 1995, the G-Man was undefeated in the 1990's until quitting with a bloodclot on the brain in a fight with Nigel Benn. The G-Man had 20 1st-round wins to his name and was the WBC 160 champ. McClellan defeated Jones at the 1988 Golden Gloves.

Jones could of fought Nigel Benn between 1989 and 1996, Benn had only lost one fight in the 1990's before the McClellan bout finished him and that was a brutal battle with the world-class Chris Eubank - nothing to be ashamed of. Benn was 22-0 with 22 KO's at one point, he travelled to America to fight in 1989 and 1990 and knocked out Doug DeWitt and Iran Barkley in their own backyard of America to win World titles, he went on to make 10 defences of his WBC crown. ROY JONES WAS NIGEL BENN'S MANDATORY CONTENDER AT SUPER-MIDDLEWEIGHT IN 1992/1993, ROY JONES WAS WBC CONTINENTAL AMERICAS SUPER-MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION WHILE BENN WAS WBC MAIN CHAMPION. SO ROY JONES CLEARLY DUCKED NIGEL BENN BECAUSE HE DROPPED BACK DOWN TO 160 INSTEAD TO FIGHT FOR THE VACANT IBF TITLE AGAINST HOPKINS(Hopkins wasn't even ranked in the top five at 160 at the time so that win means nothing).

Chris Eubank was undefeated for 10 years as a professional, he was unbeaten in his first 43 fights, he was a two-weight World Champion and called out Jones time and time again in 1996. He even rang Jones up. He even rang HBO up and told them that he'd publicly bet $1,000 on knocking Jones Jr out in the 1st-round so it would sell good. But Jones avoided him, blatantly wouldn't let him near him.

Frankie Liles defeated Roy Jones as an amateur, he scored a standing count on Jones as an amateur in another bout, he was a good fighter and a World Champion at 168 from 1994 to 1998. He was a tall Southpaw and he could punch. I wonder why Jones avoided him eh?

Stevie Collins turned into a man posessed, in 1994/1995 he hired a psychologist, started using weights, hired a nutritionist, started working with Freddie Roach, grew a goatee beard and began calling himself 'The Celtic Warrior'. He switched from depressed boxer into marauding warrior and would of taken Jones to places that he has never been before. This is the most blatant fight that Jones dodged, Collins was very rugged and awkward as well as being very smart and fearless - he didn't let you breath. He sent both Benn and Eubank into retirement, beating both of them twice apiece and then travelled to Pensacola for all of Jones' fights - Collins climbed into the ring after Jones' fights and called him a coward in front of the whole of the US, he went to the post-fight press conferences and told everybody that Jones was a yellow dog. You name it and Collins did it. But Jones clearly avoided Stevie for a good three years in the mid-90's befire Collins finally called it a day and gave up, concluding that Jones was scared of him and knowing that he'd of beaten him!
Im glad you mentioned Stevie cos Steve Collins was a very underrated fighter, not until his 30th birthday did he call himself the CELTIC WARRIOR and he turned into a wrecking machine from then. But even early on he was underrated,he was absolutely robbed with backtoback losses in Johnsons backyard and Kalambays backyard, those judges should of been shot!Collins was totally robbed on the scorecards,he beat Johnson and Kalambay in their backyards clearly. He almost walked away from the sport after that and only came back because he needed money.Collins beat Watts and Thornton in the 80s,Watts had caused world champ Nunn problems,Thornton had caused world champs Eubank and Toney problems.I remember that Michael Watson was ducking him for years when they were supposed to be fighting for the vacant european titles.Eubank ducked Collins for four years, and Benn chose Barkley/Eubank over Collins in 1990.Nunn ducked Collins for two years,Roy Jones ducked Collins for two years too.McCallum openly admitted that he didnt want anything to do with Collins again because at one point in their fight Collins abandoned his fight plan and just went right after McCallum causing him more problems at the end of their fight than McCallum had ever had,Collins said afterwards that had he gone at McCallum from the start he'd of won and McCallum nodded in agreement.Stevie had to beat Eubank and Benn twice for the british public to accept it,they were still in a state of shock that Eubank and Benn had lost so Stevie had to do it twice, and made millions of Eubank and Benn's names and good for him he deserved it.I heard he always trained his ass off Collins

              Nice post

People always say that Collins lacked boxing skills, but you have to respect his record. In 11 years of professional boxing, fighting at a very high level, he only ever lost three fights and you only have to watch those three fights to see that he showed better than his opponent in each loss. McCallum quickly let it be known that no ammount of money would entice him back into a ring with Collins again! This was 1989 or 1990, and McCallum knew that Collins suffered stage fright at first until finally leaving the nerves behind and putting McCallum through hell towards the end. Those controversial losses to Reggie Johnson and Sumbu Kalambay in 1992 were a disgrace to boxing, anybody with a grain of sense and a grain of vision could see that Collins clearly won those fights. But that was the last time he would have to put a 'L' in the bracket.

Collins trained alongside Marvin Hagler at the Petronelli Gym in the 1980's, he fought in Boston a lot for the first 5-6 years of his career and fought for the WBA 160 title twice as well as fighting for the European title against former WBA 160 champ Kalambay. He won all of his other fights convincingly. That guy Collins was as tough as nails and just got the job done. Respect.

Freddie Roach, to this day, still says that Collins would of beaten Jones, Collins had awesome work-rate and a rock-solid chin, he had an ugly style but it was so effective, he could sap your energy with his body blows and also had his fair share of hard head punching ability to get you out of there too. Freddie says that if you go on common opponents, Collins had the edge over Jones. When he Freddie was fed up of people saying that Jones would beat Collins because he beat McCallum and Johnson while Collins lost to them, Freddie said "A Pre-Prime Collins only narrowly lost to a Prime McCallum and a Prime Johnson in the early 90's at 160. A Prime Jones only narrowly defeated a Post-Prime McCallum and a Post-Prime Johnson in the late 90's at 175. So what would of happened had Collins and Jones fought in the mid 90's at 168?"

                    This is ****ed.
Roid Jones only fought one mandatory contender for his IBF title from 93-97 and it was his very last fight as a 160-168 fighter, it was against a guy called Bryant Brannon (Bryant who?). So he didn't fight a mandatory until his last fight at 160-168, what's up with that?

Also, Joe Calzaghe was calling out Jones from 1997-2004. Jones wouldn't fight him.
