Then these guys have worse eyesight than my grandma.

His punching style was the same, sure. But his hands were consistently higher and tighter to prevent uppercuts. His movement was probably the most improved feature. He wasn't wildly open or off-balance either after throwing or when taking a punch. He also moved forward with some elusiveness, unlike his fight with Pacquiao where he came in pretty wide open.

This was also his first fight with Steward in the corner. Give it a couple, and we'll see a machine.

they saw no diffrence so what... He wasn't suppose to be diffrent Emanuel stewart set out to correct some bad habits cotto had picked up along the way.... He never said he was gonna change him and I did see a diffrence when yuri tried to turn it into a slug match Stewart guided cotto back to the game plan and cotto performed that game plan well... Also he wasn't off balance even when he missed or got tagged often time he was ready to counter punch effectively or catch yuri with a second or third punch...

The trainers aren't wrong, Cotto isn't a "different" fighter. He has always been a complete boxer, in this particular fight his jab and footwork were more effective...but these are good signs. If Cotto stays as disciplined and patient, he can continue being a top-notch fighter in this sport.

Im not talking about all Puertoricans, but the majority out here would love to see him lose and F*&^ed up. My personal opinion is that he looked Great to the cotto we saw against Pac and Clottey and that with some time and Stewart he can come back to being that great fighter that he was and IS!!!!!!
This is not new. Puertoricans can reach such de****able levels of hate towards their own representatives in sports its ridiculous. I feel they don't deserve ****, instead of being proud they always hate, criticize, and put down the accomplishments of others. Sometimes I'm even embarrassed to say I am 'rican; ******, ignorant, backwards-thinking lot... There's a marked difference in the quality of human being in PR, you have the very few remaining kind (and quickly disappearing), open-minded, and of truly good nature folks, and there's the 90% lot whom are 100% *******s.

Maybe he did it before and I'm just now noticing it, but I was really shocked at how good his footwork was, especially against the fleet-footed Foreman.
Cotto has always been a master of cutting off the ring with boxers with movement... he slides with them instead of following them around like a lot of fighters do. You probably didn't notice it as much with some of his fights like with Margo, Mosely, Gomez etc. because they were more of brawlers. I don't think some people realize how good he is at cutting off the ring because when he fights the brawlers he looks more like he's plodding forward. With slick boxers he really is amazing at limiting their movement.

I thought Cotto looked pretty good against Yuri, I don't know if I would call him the 'new' Cotto. His jab and ring generalship was great, and he can cut of the ring like nobodys business. But if you go back and watch his old fights coming up as a JWW and WW he had a lot more 'pep' in his step. I don't think his skills are lacking, and I think Cotto will always have the heart of a lion... I guess maybe it's that fire and desire that seems to be in question for me at this point. Does he still have that?

Unfortunately my friend, that seems to be the case all over the world these days. It's sad, really.

He look good because of his mediocre opponent. I love cotto but I have watch his last fight like 15 times and he was a bit slow trowing wide unnecessary punches onto the air a lot, he was getting hit flush to the head with right hooks (no good vs a power puncher). Cotto has always been a good technical boxer but let's see what happens. I still think he can beat MArgocheato. But clearly Cotto has loss some speed.
