Steward even said he wasn't going to change Cott's style. Just bring back the old Cotto who was a technically sound fighter.

    What's up with these idiots.

      B.s.

the article was taken out of context
all they wer tryin to say was that he looked good, but no major changes, just a sharp, refocused fighter.
no dis was thrown out there.
with that being said, its just the first fight baby, they'll get more comfortable with eachother and Steward will eventually get all the way inside Cotto's head and make him a better fighter. I hope Cotto works his but off in training, go through hell so that on fight night it comes easier, and that i think was what he was missing

Let me tell you guys, Im a Puerto rican that lives in P.R. and dwell here, but its incredible how the people and the "supposed" fans can be such *******S and not admit that Cotto did a good job, meanswhile alot of people ouside here said Cotto looked good and sharped and improved well to what we had seen before. Im not talking about all Puertoricans, but the majority out here would love to see him lose and F*&^ed up. My personal opinion is that he looked Great to the cotto we saw against Pac and Clottey and that with some time and Stewart he can come back to being that great fighter that he was and IS!!!!!!

I agree, he looked good, better than most recent fights.
also, people say he looked bad against Clottey and took a beat, but lets remember that Cotto had knocked Clottey down and was looking really good and sharp until that big gash opened up over his eye and it was really difficult for him to see clearly, but yet he fought with a lot of heart and took punishment but he was a better man then Clottey, and that fight in essence was the fight that had him looking bad against Pacquiao along with the ****ed up catch-weight and the very big possibility that pac is on peds

Cotto did a good job, but i understand how there was very little improvement, at this point he hasn't been with Steward that long. With time, if anyone can make Cotto a more well-rounded fighter it would be Steward.

The real problem is everyone is too fast to write a fighter off. Miguel Cotto never left he just had a couple tough fights against top fighters. Steward is no doubt a great personnel change, but Cotto never quit being a good fighter.

his defense is still an issue. he keeps staying open to right hands. all he does is put his glove up and hold it there to almost show everyone he's blocked it. i don't like that ****. he needs to correct it.

I agree with some of the posts, Cotto was already a "great" boxer however I did note some technical improvements as a result of Stewart's care; which was a HUGE DEAL IMO

Cotto wasn't leaning in as much as he habitually did in prior fights. As a result, Cotto was fighting "upright" or "tall". This accomplished two things: It allowed Cotto to throw punches over Foremans guard and provided better movement slipping out of punches ESPECIALLY the uppercut

Cotto fought a reserved disciplined fight. Despite Foreman's injured knee, Cotto appeard coy and didn't rush for the KO.

Foreman might not have been a "big" threat to Cotto, however coming into this fight media and fans alike were counting Cotto out. I am a Cotto fan that will say this...the Foreman fight cannot be taken as a good indicator of Cotto's current state. I'd personally would like to see two more "tune-up" fights before he goes for another prize fight. With that being said, it's very unlikely and people will want him in the ring with Margo, Pac, Williams..etc...

I thought Cotto's footwork looked much better than it had recently. His timing on the jab was back, and it was good to see him go to the body hard again.

Miguel's footwork, plus his ability to keep his guard up looked better, picking good punches to throw.
