I always said Stewad would bring the old Cotto back..not change the new cotto..in fact many people said this..dumb trainers hating cuz a black man getting credit for helping their Rican star..DOnt hate!! lol Cotto doesnt need to be changed..just reminded and disciplined more to stay fighting like the old cotto who had great fundamentals and balance..

Actually, I thought he looked a lot slower. But you're right - Steward made some good technical changes. He did MASTERFUL job cutting off the ring, something I've never really associated him with. Maybe he did it before and I'm just now noticing it, but I was really shocked at how good his footwork was, especially against the fleet-footed Foreman.

I wouldn't say new or even improved. He did do some thing differently though.

Either way Cotto would have beaten Foreman at any stage of his career because it's the right style for him, so it's not the best indicator. You can see though that he moved side to side a bit more, didn't crouch as much with his head tucked either.

They work on that double even triple jab he use to throw only 1 hard jab at a time and he was throwing fast combinations (when he could 'cause Yuri wasn't on punching range most of the time) Faster footwork to match up with Yuri's movement they accomplish everything they worked on the gym.

Umm Cotto has always been 1 of the best if not the best at cutting off the ring..nothing new there. Check the Judah fight..Clottey fight..Jennings..pretty much 1 of the things ive always liked about Cotto. He did chase Pac like a fool sometimes and didnt cut the ring..but im pretty sure its cuz he didnt wanna cut the ring and make pac fight even more since he was already getting hit pretty good with those fast 1-2 leads.

Yeah he would throw it once..never really doubled on it..then in most fights he would abandon it in the middle rounds and go to the body or head hunting..good to see Steward make him use it the whole fight..Smart move..any fighter/trainer/fan should know all your punches would come easier if u have a strong consistant jab..then to have a double/triple jab is killer..like DLH used to have.

ppl dont understand cotto is a complete fighter he doesnt need to rely on his power he can with on points wat steward did was help cotto be smart in balance and go back to his jab which helped him beat molsey also he went to the body to slow foreman down he didnt run low on stamina n he was aggressive same old cotto but bad habbits going away

Cotto looked better but we still dont know how the opponent who have done had it been Pacquiao that was in there with him, And its great that Steward isnt trying to change him because cotto isnt a green young fighter anymore.

Cotto seemed like the same fighter to me as well.

Cotto has always been a good boxer as well as a pressure fighter.

Cotto was the better boxer than Foreman from the start, i don't see how anyone else saw differently.
