American football isn't even in the top 10. **** that weak ****. All those pads? Come on, ***** ass football players. All that playing grab ass on the field isn't cool either. Rugby is much tougher. No pads and its harder to advance up the field. You don't just lob the ball forward and let someone catch it. Damn, that's too easy.

Not to mention that football is a 60 minutes game with a break every 30 seconds where Rugby is an 80 minute not stop game except for half time.

Ive never seen a 50 km runner at 50 years old, but i would think he looks better than most of the boxers... just check out one of the best fighters ever in muhammad ali.. and you will know what kind of sport is boxing..

by the way, ESPN.COM did this poll with sports insiders, athletes etc.. and boxing was no. 1 followed by hockey..

I would say it is a tie between all of the combat sports like Boxing, Wrestling, and MMA.

Combat sports (E****ALLY boxing) are the hardest sports in the world by far if you are looking at things long term. Its not even close.

As hard as cycling or running or soccer is, you will not suffer brain damage from it. PERIOD. End of thread.

cant believe it took that long to get to UFC (MMA). MMA is the toughest thing to do. any one who doesnt believe me, go down to your local MMA gym and try to go a few rounds and you'll find out pretty quick that your boxing skills will get you about 1 min into the fight. that said boxing is #2

Actually, I belive we are talking long term effects. If it is just what is the most phyiscaly demanding sport "at the time" then yes there are a lot of sports that rival boxing and a few that surpass it, MMA being one of them.

However, you don't get the long term effects in MMA than you do in boxing. In boxing you get hit in the head A LOT more than MMA. Also, a lot of MMA strikes (e****ally elbows to the forehead) do facial damage while getting tagged on the chin with a right will kill brain cells.

Yes, getting elbows isn't excatly good for you, but based on how many times you get hit, where you get hit and how hard people are hitting, boxing is easily the hardest on the body over a long period of time.
