What's the point of Bute being at 168 if he's not in the tourney?

pavlik vs bute is good but not good for kelly. hes gonna get that ass taken 2 school. i know their in the super 6 but he needs 2 target 1 of the other 168 pounders like kessler or froch, they dont have much skills 2 me. just come foward fighters. kelly would match up better against 1 of them, not so much vs bute.

I saw this matchup comming a mile away. About the only name that both fighters can make decent money. Don't know if Kelly can hang with Bute that has so many demensions in his fight plans

Cosign, Bute has better skills than Martinez he might not be as fast but he's close and dude has good, accurate power, on top of that a southpaw. I could see Bute knocking Pavlik out.

Bute is overrated because he's been overprotected thus far. Let's not forget this guy basically was knocked out by Andrade. That being said, he SHOULD handle Pavlik pretty easily. There are guys @68 who Pavlik has ZERO chance of beating, but Bute is not one of them.

He ran out of gas in that fight and tried to be cute all night. We saw what happened when he became more aggresive in the rematch. Bute is just coming into his own, he's just finding out what he can do and getting confidence in his skills. His level of opposition hasn't been steller but it's gotten a heck of alot better lately. Andrade and Bika are solid fighters maybe Bika more so than Andrade I'm just going of the skillset and weeknesses and Bute is all wrong for Pavlik he's literally Sergio Martinez on mild performance enhancers.

i think he puts froch into a hospital for months, knocks AA out, yes AA does not have the punch output to deal with pavlik of pavliks power in any way,

I don't know about AA he's got a rock hard chin and great defense it would be more of a question if Pavlik could take AA's power not the other way around dude hits harder than anybody at 160-175. He also has underappreciated hand speed. I agree about guys like Kessler and Froch he could do well against both of them they are pretty much straight up fighters with unimpressive speed. Kelly is an A-/B+ dude for sure he shouldn't be counted out at 168 he can punch and although he's slow he has pretty solid technique not much variety but he's solid technically.

You guys are giving Bute WAY too much credit. He has not fought anybody!! He was KO'd by Andrade. Pavlik lost to B-Hop no dishonor in that and he lost to Martinez, both are elite fighters. I do not put Bute in that category. First he only fights in his hometown ans second he has never been in their with ANY world class competition. Pavlik and Bute is a good match up. People are giving Bute too much respect and Pavlik not enough. This is from a person who is not even close to being a Pavlik fan.

That's a convenient excuse, if not a plausible one. What's to say he wouldn't gas against Pavlik? Pavlik is much better than Andrade, that's for sure. Regardless, Bute has lots more to prove. He'll get his chance soon enough.
